its amazing how much talent and natural gift this guy has. All you have to do is tune in the game and watch how his footwork, this is that Hakeem type of potential. In todays era where zone defense limits the freedom for big men inside the paint area a lot of big men forgot the skills of footwork.

Embiid is like Shaq because he's huge, but not as big as Shaq

And he's like Hakeem because of his offensive repertoire, but not as nimble

If can have a career like a hybrid Shaq-Olajuwon...

Got to get this guy healthy and on a good team before he can reach his potential. I just don't see it happening in Philly unless they build a better rounded team around him position wise and also get a few veteran leaders.

He's going to help the Sixers become good. He doesn't need to leave. We have Simmons. Simmons and Embiid will be our core and we will get a high 2017 pick who should be the next best player. That right there will help us become contenders in a few years. Sprinkle in Saric and some reserves and a quality free agent then this team is going places. We should be a contending for a playoff spot next season if everyone remains healthy.

So Embiid dances to music with lyrics a 3 year old can write and then does a very easy dunk for a 7'1 player? What is impressive or special? I don't blame Sixers fans for being so easily impressed considering the last decade or so of tanking I guess.

Trust me, I get it. Team been bad a long time has exciting young players. Clippers were there not long ago. But what gets me is Sixers fans delusions on guys like Embiid. He needs to perform when the season actually counts consistently before we say he's Shaq, Hakeem etc. Hell Greg Oden when he played looked good to but staying healthy is half the battle. Even IF he was the next Hakeem if he can't stay healthy it won't matter.

Pretty sure it was posted because it was funny. Not because it shows his bball skills. He's a character.

You're saying 'Sixers' fans' but you're referring to what others are posting, you did it earlier in this thread as well... A Sixers' fan didn't post the last tweet and a Sixers' fan didn't say anything about it either. Are you attempting to troll or something?

Greg Oden looked amazing when he was healthy too. Too bad he couldn't stay healthy, ever.

Bunch of pessimistic a holes. Some of you just want to see him get injured/bust because we finally have something to rave about. Try being a Sixer fan..

I don't think anyone wants that, that's an exaggeration. I think people want to see him perform as well as he has in preseason once the actual season starts when it matters. Remember teams haven't had the need to scout him or pay any attention to him as yet because he has been injured. So yes, he has signs that he can make an impact but right now fans should just be happy that he is healthy and playing basketball, but how he performs when the games actually matter is when the true analysis on his game can begin.

I just can't see a reasonable fan of the NBA wanting Embiid or any player to get hurt, just because they are hating on them or the hype surrounding the player. Having players like him and being successful is good for the league, the more great players we have in this league the better.

Well as a Bulls fan we were on the high of highs when Jordan was playing, and the fall from grace was so bad and to have remained in the pits for as long as we did before we finally slowly turned things around, I feel you. I remember getting excited when we signed Eddie Robinson. Those were dark days as fans.

I guess on the flip side I guess some people are rolling their eyes due to comparisons to Hakeem and Shaq which I've read floating around on this board, which lets be real is a little absurd.

I hope he doesn't get hurt again. It sucks Oden was injury prone. Oden would've been awesome to watch. Embiid will be awesome to watch. Him getting hurt helps no one imo.

Damn that triggers some memories for me. I remember when Eddie was a free agent and his son was spotted wearing Pistons shorts. I was sure he was going to sign with Detroit. Dark days indeed.

It isn't absurd if you take it in context. Don't look at Hakeem or Shaq in their MVP years and compare them to what Embiid is now. That is unfair.

Compare them at the same level of development.

Hakeem wasn't Hakeem when he was in his 4th season of organized basketball. Shaq played his entire youth, so he had way more experience at the age of 22 than Embiid has.

It is completely fair to say that Embiid has talent in the class of those guys, and that is what people are referring to when they mention him with them.

Plus, as I stated before, a lot of the most impressive things about Embiid are outside of the highlight packages. His intangibles in terms of personality, leadership, motor, and intelligence are as elite as his physical gifts.

It is fair to be skeptical about him, and it is fair to say that the preseason isn't the regular season. However, if he is dominating two months into the season, I hope and expect that people will come around. He is better than a lot of non Sixer fans realize, and that is a fact that will become self evident soon.
