Hill is waay overpaid and owed huge money over the next few years.
Hood is a RFA, so they will have difficulty in retaining him if he plays well
Clarkson is owed 12 and 14mill as well for the next two years..
Nance JR. is a nice haul though
From the Lakers perspective, they want cap space and wanted to get rid of Clarkson's contract. Cleveland is probably the only team willing to give them a 1st round pick for it.
As for Utah, they also can't retain Hood without going over the cap so they trade him for Crowder, who has a team friendly contract (7mill) for the next two years.
So Cleveland didn't really trade their garbage players WITH BAD CONTRACTS (TT, JR). They just got rid of some expiring contracts.
The fat contracts are still there, but that's a different story. Maybe in the summer they can package BK 1st, Hood, TT/JR for something? It all depends on where LeBron signs really
