The NBA has been trying to get rid of its "thug" identity for years and cutting down on that kind of plays is one of their main strategies. It's weird though, in a black dominated league like the NBA most people see it as thug behaviour yet in the white dominated NHL it's "part of the game".

A lot of Boston's important players are young/inexperienced and aren't quite ready to bring the same focus/intensity on the road as they do at home IMO.
