Playing him off ball a lot would be stupid when he's one of the most talented passers to come out of the draft European or American. Find it funny people think his passing is merely good as opposed to genuinely elite. He played off the ball a lot in this game which is not how he should be played at all. Also you can say he has a slow first step, but when he's driving coast to coast under perfect control, he might as well be Steve Nash, who was considered pretty slow too.

It would be great if he's ever as good a shooter as Peja though. Because given the fact his ball handling and passing is stratospheres above Peja who was a top 15 player at one point in time, likely says he'll be one of the best players in the league.

They don't even play for my team but I would love for them to be the next Magic+Bird it would make the league a lot more competitive. I just need to see a lot more from both players before I give them that type of label.

It's almost like claiming that the next big guy that can hit home runs is the next Babe Ruth.

How do people feel about this? Do you think it's gonna work long-term?

I don't see why you can't make the stylistic comparisons. There are clearly some pretty significant differences, while also plenty of similarities. Comparing achievements or impact doesn't even make sense. It's not even just that they would need to be as dominant as those two, they'd also need the luck of falling into the right situation. Bird and Magic had plenty of help achieving the success they had.

It looks like the Mavs are going to switch everything on defense.

Dad, what’s a power forward?

I actually don't think where you are put on the teamsheet matters all that much in basketball anymore. He should be the co-primary ball handler alongside DSJ on offense, and guard someone on the perimeter on defense who isn't the oppositions most athletic and talented scorer. That's about it. We'll see how he does against NBA teams, but he played pretty intelligent switching defense in this game.

Houston vs GS looked best when PJ Tucker played center, so yeah why not.

Turkoglu not Peja

i think detlef schrempf is a better comparison

He has better handles than Schrempf. But I am not sure if his jumpshot is as good.

Isn’t he supposed to be some goat PG? Like Ben Simmons but can shoot 3’s? No? Why isn’t he playing PG?

A power forward is a forward that is capable of receiving an enormous amount of power.

actually i've got it backwards. You see, the power forward is actually generating the power by doing most of the work.

Think the Mavs trying to figure out what position he can guard. If he can matchup with the weaker 3/4 on most teams than he will be just fine.

Yeah, that's where a lot of people thought he would be most dangerous, like a guy who could be Kevin Love/Draymond Green off ball, but give him the ball and he is more of a Ben Simmons type who can hit a deep 3.

Where would you play him?

I think he's going to be better overall than Ben Simmons. He can do just about everything.
