The 4th pick might be a better asset than anything that was offered back in Feb? Kuzma is the only asset they didn't get from the Lakers.

They were already offering the pick in February...plus kuz and zubac ...they got less now.

The thing is if they get AD at that time then they would have won more games and changed there odds to move up... Them moving up was the best thing lakers got to get this deal done.

My gosh, he just got a group of promising young players and 3 future firsts one of which is #4 this year. I haven't seen the protections on the other 2 firsts but if they aren't protected and if one of them isn't due for 4 years that could be a very high pick since it will be the year after lebron's deal is up. Typically his former teams tank very hard the year after he leaves.

I honestly don't know how Grif could have done any better than he just did. I think that was a hell of a deal for the Pels

Zubac makes no sense with a team that has Zion. So I doubt they would've resigned him anyways. The added value in that pick is more than Kuzma's value.

They were ready getting the pick in Feb plus kuzma...now no kuzma...pels acted unprofessionally in February and they ended up getting less.

In February that pick was looking like it wasn't going to be a top 10 pick. The value now for it is very different. Plus if they do the trade then, AD goes to LA mid season and chances are that pick isn't even a lotto pick.

This combined with the inaction with Kawhi is not a good look for Ainge.

Great deal for the Pels given the circumstances. 3 1sts and potential to flip either ball or Hart. Keep Jrue at least till the deadline.

Seems like a lot to give up but no all star talent coming back, guess I can see the justification. Lakers still get the best player in the trade so I can’t complain from their side.

Instant rebuild and they could even get younger if they traded Holiday for #6 and drafter Culver. That is probably the best rebuilding team in the league with 2 fresh rookie contracts.

The Pelicans had no leverage at all and managed to make it out like bandits.

I wouldn’t be suprised the Kuzma news was a smokescreen to try to get a bigger haul from the Lakers.

I think it all depends on what they do with Holiday and Ball. If they can flip ball for the 6th or 7th pick. Garland at #4 and Cam at 6 or 7 makes a ton of sense.

Despite liking Zion, I don't know that Cam would want to continue playing under his spotlight..

How freaking lucky did LA get with the lotto this year. Their pick jumps all the way up to #4, while NO gets the #1 pick. Which took away any chance of a team offering Zion to get AD. Got extremely lucky in two ways.

Kawhi is not a guy who joins other players, as the teams are currently formed, Raptors would probably beat the Lakers in a series

This is a great haul for the Pelicans and should set them up with a nice, fun, young group to develop for the next few years.

They could open up about 18 million in capspace from what I'm seeing too.
