Re: Celtics exposed?
It's pure Celtics hate to focus on their weakness, they aren't contending anyway. The Clippers aren't exactly doing any better with their front court.

LOL. Tremont Waters is better than Markelle Fultz for 1/40th of the money.

Of course every rebuild is different but the ultimate goal is to win basketball games not accumulate star players.
At the end of the day, over that time period, the Celtics have won more basketball games and got further into the playoffs more consistently than any of the other teams mentioned. To me, that means they've been more successful

Good point, now that I think about it, there’s no team I can think of that got a chip without making moves for an established star player.

Both Celtics 2nd round picks are better than Fultz, and it's not by a little.

Fultz has plenty of time to figure his game out and I hope he does.
Plus, it would be great to make a GB post in 2038 entitled “Philly Exposed” when they’re paying 67 year old Al Horford $27m.

List at least 5 of them then.

I wouldn't say exposed. What I will say is that the Celtics are very unlucky in the fact that none of Hayward Tatum or Brown will be all-stars this year. If you'dve told me this would be the outcome in summer 2017 I'dve said GTFOH. This is a lesson and cashing in before it's too late.

I don't know why Orlando was scheduled for 4 games in 6 days during preseason but it worked in Boston's favor. Vuc also didn't play. Magic were missing all kinds of open shots. Lots of bad statlines for the Celtics, wouldn't say they're out the woods yet.

And Kyrie's leadership. Too bad the toxic young guys Brown and Tatum chased him away.
Good assessment:

That's a bold claim.
Kemba taking a lot of shots but they are all getting 30+ mins a night and more shots.
Horford, Morris, Kyrie, Rozier all gone and replaced by Kemba, Kanter and some rookies.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

'The Woods'?
They've played 2 preseason games, one without Kemba, and win them both, one in a complete pantsing.
Boston fans aren't seeing this team as a contender, but apart from your own hot take, how are they in the woods?
I check my own bias by looking at Vegas over unders...things are less biased when it's pure money at stake.
There is no plunging market on the Celts, so by all means, take the chance to place what you see as a safe bet.

They had won three and took the game off. Its pre season. They owned the Celtics last year if I remember correctly. Why go all out for a team you think is cream puff.

Re: Celtics exposed?
It’s funny people want to play small ball and forget the center is the most important position for the defense in basketball. Unless u have a strong 4 defender (aka Paul Milsap) paired with an average center defender. U cannot get away with a center who cannot defend that well. And yes. Milsap helps Jokic out a lot.
So unless Boston’s young bigs improved. It’s gonna to be a young problem for them all season.
Even my sixers realize this program. The minute embiid went out of the game. The center defense became a joke. Teams attack at will. Just image not having rim protection for 30 minutes. Not a good sign for Boston unless Williams can develop or the big fella Fall can give them minutes as well.

Dreamers? No one thinks the Celtics are great. They are firmly in the 3-7 range in the east with a ceiling of the second round in the playoffs. Whats ridiculous is how everyone castigated Boston because of a preseason game vs Charlotte. Its preseason, it means incredibly little.
As to your last point, id invite you to reread some of my posts in this thread, including one where I said that people shouldnt overreact to preseason games. However, I am absolutely going to clown those who **** all over the Celtics because of their ridiculous extrapolations on one preseason game.

Re: Celtics exposed?
In the 15-16 season the Celtics had a top ten defense with Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Zeller as our centers. The defense is a sum of it's parts, not just predicated on it's weak link.
