He's also going to be in a very limited role compared to Detroit, there is absolutely no pressure. He's also going to get a lot of open looks and much better matchups so hopefully (for their sake) he can be productive.

The only reason I don't love it is because the Nets already have more than enough offensive firepower, Blake doesn't really help them on the defensive side of the ball. I would have thought they'd target a C in the buyout market, if one became available.

But they have targeted Andre Drummond, just waiting for the buyout.

Correction, he's done as one of the main options for a team but he's far from done as a nba player. Please remember your statement when he looks great as a supporting player. He's always been an underrated passer so he'll fit in great.
Bingo, guy is a really good playmaker and is far from being done. He'll have a limited role so in theory should help him with his injury issues.

So many people hating/doubting this decision. I think BG will have a positive contribution to this team and will be a factor during their finals run and potentially championship.

You heard it here first. This team has too much talent and BBIQ to fail.

I thought Kyrie doesn’t impact wins, Harden is a loser and Griffin is washed?

Super team where?

As long as his minutes are coming from TLC or Roberson or Shamet or Shump this is a net win. Otherwise...

A day after the Harden trade tons of people claimed the Nets would fail because of chemistry and defense and now they signing washed up Blake Griffin and now ppl wanna claim they're some super juggernaut lol.

As bad as Blake Griffin is. I still think he can help a team off the bench.

He would be the warriors best bench player by far if he ended up signing with them. He may be washed as a star, but he can still be a good bench guy. He's not a bum. Some teams like the warriors have literal g-leaguers playing big minutes. Blake is an upgrade to a lot of teams in this league still.

He will make an impact on an already unbeatable team. The only question now will be which team was better, the 2017 Dubs or the 2021 Nets?

They have been, but they are not anymore. They are role players now. Like Marc Gasol or Carmelo Anthony.

Cousins post-Achilles injury was still decent. His ACL tear in summer 2019 ended his career. IMO Cousins now is still more useful than Griffin. Nets should get Cousins too. Create the most stacked team in history of basketball even if Cousins and Griffin are both done.

Every time Cousins was on the floor, I was happy. He couldn’t defend anything after the Achilles and had no lift.

The Nets could start you at center and be golden.

I don’t think the above is true. He was a good citizen, played hard, and then sat once it became apparent he was going to get traded or released with a buyout.

I have no doubt the rest he just got will make him look a little better for the moment, and certainly having better teammates will increase his effectiveness on offense. He really is a fence post defensively at this point, though. You absolutely cannot run him at center or you’ll get murdered on the boards and inside. As a shooter, he’s clearly inferior to the big 3, Joe Harris, and likely some others on the roster. He’s a good passer for sure, but that’s Harden’s job and he does it way better than Blake ever could.

I just don’t see the point. Get a real big, get a couple of additional defenders.

I get a feeling people are gonna be shocked when Blake can dunk again all of a sudden. Guaranteed his first possession: Harden alley oop pass to Griffen slam.

Do people here think Griffin was just unmotivated to play for that Pistons franchise, or is it just me?

I think Lopez broke his leg that season.

So I guess Lebron had 3 all stars alongside him last year when he lead his team against the mighty Miami Heat?

Rondo has been an all star
Dwight has been an all star
Davis is an all star

Yep, those 2 moves are like peas in a pod.

Yeah because people act like talent doesn't override fit. It does.

Blake was openly tanking his way out of Detroit. I could care less how he played this year.

Talent can override fit.

Age, injury and lack of defense? Not so much. Speaking about Blake specifically, not the rest of your roster.

If you think Blake's poor play is the result of him deliberately dogging it out there, again, I'll respectfully say you haven't seen much of the situation in Detroit, as I can assure you I have.

This isn't taking on a star who might not fit in. It's taking on a guy who isn't a star anymore. Worth the risk at a minimum contract? Sure. But to say this is a game changer is misinformed to put it kindly.

I mean I don't think were asking him to be a star.

But can he help us in a playoff game? I think so.
