Haven't seen a single soul prop up anyone of those you mentioned. Also there is like 1 dude who denied what happens in Xinjiang.

Didn't you just brush off Trump trying to overthrow an election?

Again, the guy has gone after 3 Right Wing authoritarian figures in the last 5 years:

Xi
Trump
Erdogan

Probably has a substantial amount of money on his head from the henchmen of those 3 figures alone.

By publicly going after Lebron and China, he's now risking his economic security with the league while making Nike angry as well.

Dude has some massive stones.

Why is he only calling out those 3? There are atrocities going on all over the world.

Somebody please enlighten me on how it takes stones to go after Trump when people did that for 4 years straight? Also someone please enlighten me on how Trump was an authoritarian figure during his time as president.

People have painted out Trump to be this dictator. Then what were his predecessors?

Sealion harder. This is kind of shameful to be honest.

Kanter isnt ever getting close to being the Basketball player LeBron is, that is correct. As a human being, and a political activist, its exactly the other way around.

 Kanter is a Gulenist, a political cult that is everything he claims the CCP to be. Fethullah Gulen was a major player in Turkey's descent into an islamist right wing authoritarian nation characterized by journalistic suppression and the violation of freedom of expression, assembly, and association. He's the leader of the political cult that Kanter is a member of which was initially partners with Turkey's current leader Erdogan. Gulen lost a power struggle, left the nation and his supporters were suppressed. Kanter's problem with Turkish dictatorship started then.

They also cooperate with PKK. i used to help my friend a kurd from Turkey gather money to help the PKK. I was young and didn't really know much about it but i remember they were shady as hell. Some real loose cannons. Really majority of the kurds i know dont like the PKK. They see them as extremists.

That isn't "speaking your mind" or "freedom of speech". I am surprised the league lets Kanter do this... imagine if it became a trend to mock other players.

I don't disagree. Kanter has been at this for years and he seems to be getting peak attention now that he dragged Bron into it. So that has to be the point from his perspective, to get attention on the cause. Which is a good aim and result.

But I'm uncomfortable with him mocking fellow players and wish he'd gone about it differently. Just seems like an affront to the NBA fraternity.

I'd be fine with him singling out a player, but only if that player deserves to be singled out. To single out a player for something the whole league is guilty of is a bad look.
But LeBron does deserve to be singled out. He was the player that stood up for China in the Morey incident.

Yeah, it’s one thing to speak out which I respect, it’s another to just go after a fellow NBA player in this way. There’s better ways to go about this than pissing off coworkers and calling them out in public.

I agree somewhat…but somebody needed to call LeBron out on that RIDICULOUS comment about how Morey “had to get educated” about the issues surrounding Hong Kong.

For someone who want to view themselves as active in social justice issues, that was a pretty brutal own-goal.

For sure, but do it like a man, talk face to face. I’m no Uber Bron fan, I could care less about him one way or another, but he’s right on his reaction. If you have a problem with someone or their stance / opinion, you talk to that person. Kanter is just using Bron’s image to promote his message… which is pretty lame.

I stand with Kanter and his mission, but this is not a good way to go about it

Using Bron's image on national television to bring awareness to NBA/Nike's submissive behavior to a genocidal regime is GENIUS, actually

When has a foreign country assassinated a US citizen on US soil?

I think if anyone they would be trying to assassinate Fettulah Gulen if they ever were to assassinate anyone. And i hardly think China cares about what Kanter says. They'll just stop showing Celtics games. And it looks like they have

Im not pushing the goal post. I agree that his life would be in potential danger if he went outside of the US. At the least turkish officials would try to arrest him.
