Jokic is hands down the MVP followed by Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetekoumpo. No one else is even in the discussion, Tatum and Embiid included.

I haven't followed MVP discussion. But that Luka's performance was absolutely nuts.

I didn't think it was possible to play yourself back into the MVP conversation with one performance but here we are.

Well, I just had a top two. Now I have a top three.

1. Jokic
2. Tatum
3. Luka

Think they’ve all separated themselves from the rest of the league thus far.

Giannis has a negative on/off and his worst box score numbers in 5 seasons. He hasn’t done anything to put himself on the same level as Tatum yet this season.

Ya I had it as Jokic one and Tatum two, then a gap to the next guys. Crazy to say 1 game has that much of an impact, but ya what Luka just did is just flat out stupid. That was beyond a MVP level performance, that was weve never seen anything like that before kind of performance. And ya he is right in that top group with Jokic and Tatum now. He was already having a fantastic year and that was seriously just ridiculous.

The top 4 should be Jokic, Tatum, Luka and Durant.

Luka dark horse? Embiid with 48 too but in a loss. Mavs are 2 games out of 2nd place in the West and they usually have a strong back end and the Sixers are the same.

It’s Jokic for now but Luka will win one it’s just a matter of when. Dude is still 23 it’s unbelievable

If Luka continues and is the sixth seed or better then he deserves the mvp. Jokic is too selflessness and this game is prime example. The reason why denver was down by lots by the half was because of jokic he was not aggressive. He had 2 points at the half no other superstar in the mvp conversation would have 2 pts at the half. There is no reason why that should happen ever. Denver having to come back was due to Jokic. He has to be the best in the court **** everyone else. In the first he lacked the killer instinct . There is no reason why nuggets were down to the kings without Sabonis. This was on Jokic

Tatum shouldn't even be in that discussion.
Put Luka or Joker in that Celtics team and they might challenge for a 65+ wins season.

You said that I was downplaying Jokic's extremely efficient 25 points. Now you said, just another huge performance for 60/21/10, 68 Fg%, first 60/20/10 triple double in league history? Waiting for another performance like that, means we won't reopen this thread. ;)

It's funny btw, Tatum's fans are using the defensive aspect to put him above a guy like Luka but still, Luka dominates him in 2 of the 3 main defensive stats, rebounds and steals.
Obviously not saying Tatum is not the better defensive player but at least, it might put some thought on people who keep saying that JayTat is in different galaxy on the defensive end.

I feel like KD been massively underrated this season. He's got the nets streaking right now, and I think he's been playing the best defence of his career. I got Luka Joker Durant as my top 3 ATM, but it's been a really crazy year so far, guys like embiid tatum and giannas are real close aswell.

Jokic
Tatum
Kd/ Giannis
Luka
Embiid

All of these guys are putting up huge number. It’s going to come down to availability/ wins. With Lukas supporting cast, if he’s within 5 or so wins of the other candidates I could see him winning it…

Celtics are +11 with Tatum on floor, -2 with him on the bench. Last year they were +12 with Tatum on the floor, -2 with him on the bench.

Mavericks are +4 with Luka on floor, -3 with him on the bench. Last year they were +4 with Luka on floor, +3 with him on the bench.

The defense is reflected in the team performance. Tatum’s one of the best wing defenders in the entire league. Luka’s still below average.

He’s having a great year, but I still can’t put him in my top 5. Jokic is putting up all-time box numbers while dominating every advanced stat. Tatum’s the best 2-way player and has his team playing the best when he’s on the floor. Luka’s averaging 34/9/9, Embiid’s leading the league in scoring while anchoring the #2 defense and Giannis is still probably the 2nd best player in the world when it matters, putting up better numbers than KD and playing better D. It’s amazing that such an incredible player as KD still hasn’t been a top 5 player since 2014 except for maybe the year he got hurt when Toronto ended up winning the chip.
