Kidd and the Mavs clearly didn't game plan for Porzingis, on either end,

No choice. They’ve been playing this defensive scheme all playoffs: 5v4 on defense.
Celtics killed them to end the quarter but it could have been worse with all of the wide open threes the Cs missed the first 6 minutes.

Eventually, Dallas will change their scheme and stop helping off one, opening lanes for Tatum and Brown. GG.

Why do the smaller Mavs insist on challenging Porzingis at the rim

Gotta see how well his calf is. It's the right thing. He may NOT be able to play like this all game. Keep stressing his calf (and maybe he'll strain it again) strategy.
