Tatum has a narrative around him.

But let's make up our minds.

SGA apparently plays on a stacked team .. so why is his 26/6/6 on worse efficiency better?

Tatum leads race amongst anyone who isn't Jokic. You don't have to like it

The fact that the “Thunder aren’t perceived that way” is what’s wrong with this entire discussion. One set of rules for one player but those same rules don’t apply to someone else.

Last year, people on this forum were saying Jay Will was the second best SG in the league. This year, they’re saying Chet is the DPOY. Caruso is seen as one of the best guard defenders in the league, and for that matter one of the best role guys.

Jokic is the MVP for me but it’s kinda annoying how selective the rules are.

notice that I wrote "percieved" in general, not by me. I think the Thunder are almost as stacked :)

Chet and J-Will are elite imo, and they have very good supporting players too

It's only enough to be in the same tier as Jokic?

By what metric?

Almost all of the advanced metrics show Jokic better than Davis. Why do you think AD's current performance is better?

(Or you misunderstood my comment: I meant "only enough" in the way, that it is not enough for AD to better. Even if this is his best ever performance)

So chiming in on the Jokic candidacy:

I think it will be very, very hard for him to win another MVP without winning another title. Not saying it's right, but it's how voters tend to think.

Re: "Jokic stans bemoaning others talking about anyone else". There's some truth in this...but it's to be expected given, a) the overwhelming data supporting Jokic, b) a resistance to acknowledging this data broadly, and c) a reluctance to keep giving a guy the award repeatedly.

After last year's playoffs I'd have said Shai was the MVP favorite for this year, and I'd still say that. Other players like Luka or Tatum have a much more clear path to winning the MVP as well.

I think that's like 5 of their 7 wins that were either by 2 points or in OT. Really, really bizarre season so far. But yeah, the MVP should be unanimous if the voting were today...

Jokic seems bugged in this 24-25 NBA patch. Feels like all of his skill sliders are hard stuck at 100.

37 points, 18 rebounds, 15 assists, 3 steals on 62/100/100 shooting splits.

Once again, I don't have to post a name. Because once again, there's only one man in the world who could possibly have put up that line in an NBA game.

37/18/15 for jokic in a 2 point win.

There is simply no player in his stratosphere. He should get 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and every other player can duke it out for 4th in the mvp race

Sometimes you’re just in the wrong era. It’s like when Jordan is around, there wasn’t a lot of opportunities to win MVP

The more games Jokic plays, the sillier this argument becomes.

I mean "voter fatigue" is literally all anyone can say now. I've heard so many people talk about this crap.

"Someone else is going to win MVP because everyone is tired of Jokic being so dominant." Ugh, stop it. If anyone else was putting up even comparable numbers, I could understand it. But they aren't.

Voters are going to be forced to vote for Jokic again, because Denver is going to win 50+ games again, he is not going to have an All Star teammate, and his numbers and impact are going to be so far ahead of the competition that voting for anyone else is simply going to be malpractice.

What we are witnessing is almost unprecedented.

Why do I think AD's current performance is better?

Your comment reads like AD is playing out of his mind and it's only good enough to be playing AS good as Jokic.

It seems like you're saying he's matching Jokic's performance... I'm disputing that even at his best, he's not close to Jokic. If you agree with me, your comment did read that way lol
