Actually limiting David West is the most important thing. People really underrate what he does against the Heat. We'll let Hibbert grab 20 & 10 as long as David West is neutralized. Throwing Bosh on West is definitely great because David West does struggle with lengthy defenders on him

People ignore the fact that it took D-Wade playing on one leg, Bosh disappearing, UD also playing on one leg, and Hibbert averaging 20 and 10 for the Pacers to take us to 7 last year and they STILL couldn't beat us. In 2012 Bosh had to be out the whole series for them to take us to 6 with a healthy D-Wade. This is the first year we're going into the Pacers series with the squad completely healthy. Hibbert is not going to be averaging prime Hakeem numbers this year. This is a 5 game series if the Heat don't mess around, 6 if they let a close game go.

Literally, last year's Pacers series was the definition of Murphy's Law. Everything that could have went wrong for the Heat shy of Lebron getting injured went wrong and everything that could have went well for the Pacers did...and they still couldn't beat us.

When are Heat fans going to realize it's all about LeBron? It doesn't matter who his supporting cast is, LeBron will make it work. He could play with 4 Mario Chalmers and they'd still get to the finals every year.

Cleveland days say otherwise. He evolved as a player, tremendously so, but not even Lebron can carry a team of schmucks to a title. Every great needed help and got help.

You guys are discounting the fact that the Pacers have improved since last year, overall.

I don't see how Bosh is any different than last year. After watching him closely against the Nets, he has turned into a 3 point specialist. Wade is still not completely healthy. And last year he did go off a couple of games.

I don't see how he has improved. The Heat are essentially a team centered around Lebron, the best player in the world. Everyone else is merely helping him. No one else can take over a game.

I definitely think the Pacers will be challenge for the Heat this year. And they have home court.

Saying the Pacers have improved from last year is very debatable. Their offense has been struggling for the last few months. The first half of the season? Sure, but not now.

This is the first time these two teams will face eachother while being 100% healthy. Both teams were hampered by injuries in the previous two series. That should be taken into consideration as well.

I'm excited for this series. I think the Pacers can rise to the challenge. It's not an issue of talent for them, purely mental right now. Definitely going to be physical though

They got worst. Lance thinks he somebody which will definitely cost them a game in this because he reckless. Pg improve his mid- range still don't want him taking potential game-winners. West is older with a old back up, I am curious how they use Copland in this series.

Nobody picked the Pacers last year either.

Wonderful scouting report up at Grantland from the always excellent Zach Lowe

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/confe ... he-making/

And that’s the bigger-picture thing: Indiana has won enough of the size-versus-speed trade-offs to compensate for the talent gap between these teams at the top. Hibbert has feasted in the post and on the glass on offense, and barricaded the restricted area on the other end. West has bullied Battier, wearing him down and forcing the Heat to rejuggle their rotation in ways that weaken Miami’s devastating offense.

Bosh and Chris Andersen logged 396 minutes together over just 49 games this season, but they appeared in all four Indiana games for a total of 29 minutes, per NBA.com. Bosh and Haslem played together in just 31 of the Heat’s games, but they logged 46 minutes as a duo over the three Miami-Indiana games in which Haslem appeared.

The Heat started four different lineups against Indiana this season, even dusting off Greg Oden for one game. It would not be a surprise if they flip-flopped starting lineups during this series, and Haslem may supplant Battier as early as Game 1. The odds of Oden affecting this series are slim to none, but it will be interesting to see how willing Miami is to chance small ball — and whether it designs its rotation to find those minutes when Indy’s backup bigs are on the court.

Considering how successful Antic and Gortat were at defending Hibbert...it really surprises me that Bosh has been that bad at defending him.

Or was it really Bosh's fault? Maybe it was more of an issue with whoever was guarding West at that point (most of the time, Battier)?

I think Miami should start Bosh and Haslem together...I really don't see Hibbert having much of an impact in that case, and when Hibbert goes to the bench, Miami can go small again.

Skip Bayless picked the Heat for the last 2 years, I think...he only does it so that he can pile ridiculous expectations on them, and then tear them apart if they lose...but if they win, it's very ho-hum, because that's what was "expected" anyway.

Such a troll.
