Harden will never be appreciated by other fanbases. They'll try to respect him, but after he draws his first foul they all will go back to hating him.

I completely respect Harden. Anyone who doesn't is a fool.

I'm very happy for Harden. I remember just a few years ago people actually thought he was some kind of fraud or whatever.

That's over.

Harden is very likely to set the new "Points Scored + Points Assisted" in a single season record.

No one can take that away from him if he does it. That would stand alone.

Because the triple double has a cool name and is a nice looking number.

I could not believe the crowd reactions. But that just shows you how much Westbrook has taken over the league in this regular season.

Here's what Westbrook needs to shoot for now in terms of stats in the final 2 games:

* Clinch the 30 PER season (this should be almost locked up now)
* Try to catch up to Harden in the "Points Scored + Points Assisted" race

Harden is on pace to break the NBA record for "Points Scored + Points Assisted" in an NBA season (record currently held by Tiny Archibald, I believe). Westbrook is not far behind him, but it's going to take some monstrous efforts for Westbrook to overtake Harden in that regard, likely.

I think Westbrook was about 30 PS/PA behind Harden coming into Game 80 for both players. Westbrook was not on course to break the record, but Harden was.

In 2015 Russ got injured vs the Clippers the first game (8 minutes), OKC lost by 12 in the 2nd game, and OKC blew them out by 23 in the 3rd game.

2) understand that something I factor in heavily hear is offensive excellence, and the fact remains that the Westbrook-only Thunder aren't an elite offense.

I understand about supporting cast. I'm not bringing it up to damn Westbrook. I'm saying that the impression that a player is unstoppable while playing on an offense that is very much stoppable is a contradiction

Is it? OKC is the best team in the clutch with Westbrook packing in the best crunch time season since 2001. The offense might not be the greatest but Westbrook seems to play like an unstoppable force when the game is on the line. I mean right now I just watched Russ score 10 straight in 3 minutes to turn a 10 point Denver lead into a 2 point lead. How is that not unstoppable?

Nice way to end a historic game. OKC came down from 10+ in the clutch with WB leading the way. So glad I watched this game.

This year really highlights how snakebitten the OKC franchise is. They drafted 3 HOF best of their generation talents within a few years and got nothing other than one embarrassing finals loss out of it.

Damn, Westbrook just earned himself MVP with that performance

I thought Harden should have won it, but during the latest two weeks Westbrook is playing out of his mind. He just have won it officially. Harden has no chance to win it right now.

The crowd was cheering when he hit that. Westbrook is unreal.

One of the best regular seasons of all time. Don't care.

MVP.
