He either wanted to stay 1 more year or asked to go to Hou

I think that lineup is a serious threat for GS. But without George, if its just a Paul/Harden comob, then I dont see them near GS level

Not sure the lineup gets them past round 2.

It's part of more to come... also star players often lead to more star players... its a good thing.

It could theoretically lead to Lebron.

How about this?

Paul
Harden
George
Anderson
Capela
Melo buyout

I still don't see them beating the Warriors at all, but it would be entertaining to watch, I'd definitely travel down to Houston to see it, for good or bad.

chris paul, james harden and paul george doesn't get past round 2? That lineup is stacked.

I really don't know how this is going to work with two players who need the ball as much as they do. I think Harden is going to have to play off the ball when he's sharing the floor with CP3. Harden's assists will take a tumble but I could see his 3PA and trips to the line going up.

First look at DeAndre Jordan upon hearing his security blanket getting traded...

There's only one basketball and all Harden CP3 Melo and PG wants the ball on their hands.

Why did he inform the Clippers of his plans? He could have signed with Houston without having them trade anything, right? Doesn't this just make the team he's going to weaker?

What was his incentive to tell the Clippers? Beverley and Williams would have been really good guards to have in their backcourt along with CP3.

Maybe to free up an additional $12M in payroll this year for another move he feels is better than those two players? Honestly don't know but that could be one reason.

Kind of. They had to move cap to get cap. But they surely didn't have to include the 1st round pick and technically could of dumped the assets on another team if they wanted to screw the Clippers. Apparently CP3+Ballmer+Morey talked this one out, which I'm happy about. Both sides win.

I see it as more CP3/Melo/Wade/LeBron all wanting to go play together after this year.

Harden can't be apart of that...these guys aren't all taking contracts that cheap.

Plus, Wade will probably want to start, and that foursome still needs a center.

I think CP3 just saw an opportunity to give back to LA, and doesn't really mind who he plays for this year.

If we trade Love this year, trade Kyrie next year, we can clear the decks...plus we have LeBron's bird rights which means we could actually sign the other three, then LeBron (who will likely be the most expensive).

Heck, we might not even have to trade Kyrie to do that...but IMO we would if we had to. I don't see Houston trading Harden for that.

Stephen A reporting that CP3 thought about going to Cleveland, but it couldn't get done because of the Griffin firing.

What a dumb move by Gilbert.

It's called being a class act and doing right by the franchise and fanbase that supported you for the last few years. The exact opposite of what Durant and Paul George did.

Couldn't George do the same with the Pacers. Opt in in, then Lakers give Pacers Deng/Clarkson to match salary.
