Re: 2019 NBA Finals Thread #6: Golden State Warriors vs Toronto Raptors | TOR LEADS 3-1
This board is full of either haters or quitters who’ve never competed. The whole “series over, KD would be dumb to bother” makes me cringe.
Injured KD suiting up and helping his team claw back from 3-1 would be the greatest NBA story arc in decades. He’d win Finals MVP.
Moments like this are why you play sports. Titles, compete, persevere against the odds, leave it all out there. LeBron may never get back to another NBAF, you don’t think he replays the lost chips in his head all the time, especially now that he realizes he may never sniff a title series again?

Think Steph over did himself game 3, really needed a great game from him game 4. Regardless, Warriors have too many bad players on the court while Raps have like 7 good players vs Warriors only having like 3 or 4.

I`m hoping KD plays.
Let`s clear up any of these lame asterisk discussions once and for all.

I mean whos really bad, people don't understand what the Raptors did all season.
Nurse gave free reign to the players all season for situations like this, the Raptors have seen every scenario and are prepared while the warriors have been doing the same **** for years. Raptors are just better prepared

Is what it is. People don’t asterisk the 2017 Warriors for Rondo going down.

KL is getting all the glory but Raptors defense has been great. Its not just KL.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

No asterisks. Championship win is a championship. Don't let all these realgmers get to your head.

yep, the whole asterisk idea is ridiculous. It's either people trolling or hating. A ring is a ring.

Why isn't game 5 today instead of Monday? Sunday seems to make more sense for fans watching it (IMO).

Klay the only likable Warrior to me, but yet he still comes across as overly cocky

Bruins Blues playing tonight. Thankfully they don’t run against each other.
Plus they’re trying to give them two games of rest between road trips.

Both teams look deflated and lacking energy, so I'm not mad at it. NBA season and playoffs are way too long, way too many pointless games. Starting lineups shouldn't look like it's 12th round of a heavyweight fight in the Finals.

Got this vision of Raptors winning and then Drake stealing the finals MVP trophy from Kawhi like Shooter from Happy Gilmore

"The results show that California, Nevada and Hawaii are the only states cheering for a three-peat Warriors championship"
And in the rest of the US, Knowbody even likes Californians, other than other Californians. If they ever voted to suceed, I would vote "yes", and then shortly after dam up the colarado river. and trade water for good movies.
Nah... I don’t believe these stats, what about thousands salty ones in Wisconsin, Massachusetts and Philadelphia who patrol this board with their “what if” takes... which helps them lick their wounds and help them forget.
That makes no sense. If people are playing the what if we beat Toronto card then that means they should be rooting for Toronto. I.e. "if only we beat Toronto, then it would've been us winning the title instead of them".

Exactly, that is my logic too, but please read this board and see comments. I know million percent that if, say, Philadelphia is playing GSW I would be all in for 76ers

First, there are no asterisks - period. Check the record book of NBA champions and you won't find any asterisks. Second, for those people that don't actually look at record books and just make up alternative facts of their own, it's too late even if KD comes back; we're already at game 5. The "asterisk fans" would still argue that unless KD was healthy and ready before game 1 then as asterisk should still magically appear.

I'm just saying if they're rooting against Toronto then I wouldn't call it a "what if take". Just people mad they lost lol.

A LOT of crow to be eaten if the Raptors win a ring.
Kawhi isn't expending ANY energy on the defensive end while MAXIMIZING his production on offense.
But on the bright side, look at how the ball swings from sideline to sideline to guys like Looney, Jerebko, and Draymond without KD mucking up the chemistry!
Are you not entertained?

They can’t be complacent. Im rooting for the raps to win their first ever. I’m sick and tired of the warriors. Time to end their era/dynasty. Next season would be a great one.
Well KD is almost sure to leave. While they would offer Klay the max, i don’t think they would offer that to Dray. If Dray is gone, then that’s the end of it.
Why wouldn't they offer Draymond the max then?
