Ultimately there will be busts among the top picks. In all likelihood there will be a guy picked in the teens or twenties that will end up being an allstar.

Look at where booker got drafted, look at Paul got drafted and who were drafted ahead of them.

Crying about going up and down doesn’t amount to much when you put some context historically.

Yeah, I think this year a top pick might not be that much better than a pick in the 5-10 range. And then some teams often make good picks late in the first round or later (Toronto, Denver, etc).

Sure there’s some uniqueness to Chet, but I think he’s just too damn skinny at the NBA level to risk the #1 pick on him.

Jabari or Banchero are sure fire two way stars in my opinion, both of whom can play a power game.

Banchero can't guard anybody. He's going to be a liability on defense.

He is 6'10" and 250 pounds.

He can definitely guard someone. :lift:

Imagine the Kings FO didn’t trade Haliburton. A potential Ivey - Haliburton backcourt would’ve been awesome

The mascot maybe.. but not another player. He's basically Amar'e Stoudemire on D.

now that the draft order is set it's fun to think of who can be added to these young cores.

ORL - jabari and wagner would give them a very versatile 3/4 pairing. banchero/wagner would give them a ton of size and play making, and chet/wagner would give them monstrous size (assuming chet plays PF to start his career) and a good mix of shooting/play making. isaac coming off the bench to go along with any duo just gives orlando a ton of front court options.

OKC - they already have a bunch of play making with SGA and giddey so my guess is they're not as likely to draft banchero if available. that said, they absolutely need wings/bigs and chet would hopefully give them a defensive anchor and an elite finisher insider to help out SGA and giddey.

HOU - not sure how committed to KPJ they are but i could see them taking ivey over the remaining "big 3" prospect. ivey and green would give the rockets an insane amount of athleticism in the back court and it would continue to let wood/sengun/garuba get minutes as they develop. i think banchero would also be a good fit and help with the play making while jalen green focuses on scoring.

SAC - no idea what they're thinking.

OKC is taking one of the top3 bigs for sure, and maybe try to move Up trading 12+30.

pissed on what? orlando and okc deserved the most after missing out last yr and they have drafting well. not to mention magics last number 1 was dwight and oneal they never blew top picks. no need to get greedy after you got a number 1 pick. theres also a chance number 5 pick is best guy someone like ivey i would focus on drafting well.

This is probably worst year to draft #1 ... I don't like any of the top 3 guys. I think the safest pick for would be the guard Jaden Ivey who projected #4, but the way the league is headed he is probably going to be the only one with superstar potential..

Who's the Bagley of this draft

Sent from my KB2005 using RealGM mobile app

Jaden Ivey

How can Ivey be Bagley of thus draft? This is guards league , Ivey with his first step, athleticism and shooting ...chances of him failing is slim. I wouldn't be suprised if he goes #1 after the workouts ...

12+30+34 even.
I generally wouldn't bother moving up, but I can't see them taking 4 draft picks. An overseas stash, a move up, or a trade for futures seems likely.
Either that or they package the 12 with a player to get back a young vet, if they're looking to be more competitive immediately.

Problem is they don't have any readily disposable guys who have value, except those that would be part of that more competitive core. Maybe something more cap related is possible...they can afford to take on some average/bad salary.

Judging defense from one year at college isn't really fair. He has played good team defense in spurts. Defense can be taught to a guy like this. He just needs to be drafted by the right organization. He'd be a good defender in Miami or Toronto for example, because they'd demand it, though niether team has a shot. :)

Since you guys are picking in the top 3 I'd bet on Presti getting whichever of the consensus top 3 guys he wants. He's in the prime position to wheel and deal.
