We are. We're just doing it in style.

I expect the bank to show up Jan. 1st and start repo-ing our players.

Book it.

I'd prefer them to try and get an insane point guard, or a PF like Aldridge on Portland.

I have never read a post and felt happier to see that someone says this, simply because the cav fans and their board are living in denial and are seemingly trying to make themselves feel better by saying magic got worse or they are magically better with shaq. and i have always wanted to post something to maybe make them see the light and shy away from ignorance but i dare not waste my time, cuz they will not change their opinions.

and i only say cavs fans b/c no other real fan or fan base is so ignorant to this fact, and it is funny b/c orlando was the team to knock them out of the playoffs. they thought b/c they had lebron they were gonna have the titled handed to them by the media.

Gortat's a BYC player on a long-term contract who won't get much playing time. He's going to be incredibly hard to trade.

You can't combine players with a TPE either.

I think the idea is to use the TPE first for the player the magic want to get the other team under the cap then sending gortat in a seperate trade for a 2nd round pick or something.

ORL isn't going to do anything with that TPE. Gortat is BYC, which means he's gonna be hard to trade.

Next offseason he won't be. I think that is when Orlando will look to move him.

All you have to do is separate the deals to use the TPE with Gortat.

I agree.

Although Gortat could do some real harm to his trade value depending on how he plays/acts this year, I heard he's pretty upset that he wont get to start in Dallas now.

Yeah, as has been said, the TPE would be used to 'absorb' the incoming salary in two separate deals involving Marcin.

Man...an $8M TPE and Gortat to offer another team?! Orlando has the opportunity to get real scary if they choose to use those resources.

I'm just glad the Magic made a basketball decision instead of a financial decision. Don't let a wanted big man go for nothing. That's the smart basketball move, props to Otis.

Totally. I don't see how he can get much trade value playing 12 mpg.

Dallas signed him to the contract with the idea that he would live up to it by starting. Now he'll be getting paid the same amount for 15 mpg. He's going to have to remain extremely productive in small minutes for anyone to think about taking this on.

No, Gortat will still be hard to trade because of his BYC unless you are trading him to a team under the cap.

The TPE might provide incentive for a team to do a deal, but doesn't change Gortats BYC at all.

I dont think any GM in this league is stupid enough to make a two folded trade with Otis Smith like you suggest. This guy could walk away from the deal after he got his player.
