Lowry gets so much flak from people who don't understand basketball in a nuanced sense.
That's most of you, by the way.

Ok then
We get it you guys luv the guy. He competes hard so u can respect that. Refs allow his ridiculous flopping to influence the game in a negative way which is unfortunate. Luckily when the games matter the refs dont call it as much but then you gotta deal with his constant complaining about not getting calls
Anyways, Lowry is a champion now. And especially last year in the playoffs hes not a deer in the headlights player anymore. You're welcome Kawhi.
My boy Billy Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman and Billups were all similar with trying to draw fouls so I will half admit it's just cause I'm a hater
Saying that, you can't tell me at times hes not a little ridiculous. Watch video

And even without flopping, he's still a winner. He made a ton of winning plays last night, and was competing harder than anyone. Lowry deserved to be on the floor for every minute he had. The flak he is getting is hilarious. Without him, Team Giannis would have been blown out.
Even in their mid-30s, Chris Paul and Kyle Lowry are the best PGs in the league. They both know how to run a team better than anyone. They both know how to win. They are both ultra competitive. It's too bad both of them are at the end of their careers, because the future doesn't bode well for the point guard position. Just a bunch of shoot first, me first guards waiting to replace them.

yes, I'm pissed at him too, but at least he made 4 subs in the 4th quarter and got fresh guys out there. Nurse just sat there and watched the same 5 guys blow a 10 point lead and then obviously struggle to score the entire 4th quarter. In a real game any decent coach would've made adjustments and substitutions.
It wasn't a real game, though. Nurse was catering to the vote-in line-ups, like Vogel, with the one exception of two 2nd year players who will be in every ASG for the next decade. They sat this one out to the benefit of the fans and at the expense of the fanboys.
I'd be fine with the explanation that the young guns sat in favor of vets if we were talking about more generational-type all-stars. Kemba and Lowry don't really fit that, imho.
Looks to me like the quarter ran longer than he expected and he failed to adjust by making some freaking subs. No reason to have Kemba out there for a defensive possession, for example.
It's just an exhibition so it's not a huge deal. However, it is kind of a bad look having two voted-in starters sitting the whole quarter.

Most playoffs straight? You ever heard of a team called the Spurs? Maybe do some research before you try to son someone - the Hawks were the definition of tread-milling during these so called glory years you are discussing lol.
Agreed on the spurs i was mostly talking about in our conferance we share but i did say in the league instead. We all know about the Spurs but i mispoke so i'll take that L. Now with that said ofcourse we were a treadmill team as was the raptors as no one believed they would or could beat a lebron led team either. Before last year and Leonard since the raptors beginning yall weres ame as us either not in the playoffs or 1st / 2nd round exits all but 1 year as well just like us with coach bud. I can allow a lakers, bulls, celtics fan etc... to talk about how a winning team with a good legacy is supposed to play ball. But gtfoh with the raptors and that below .500 all time record treadmill crap as well. If yall were legit eastern conferance finals or nba finals teams every year i might give it some leeway but yall have only done that twice in the raptors entire existence in 25 years.
And what are the Atlanta Hawks known for other then being around a zillion years relocating a bunch of times
and never winning a championship? Hell when was the last time you even made the Finals? Maybe in St. Louis before
color TV was invented if that?
And the only thing of relevance they've done in Atlanta is have Dominique Wilkins in the 80's and early 90's that's
it. It's actually kind of surprising no one talks about the Hawks ineptitude with other franchises like the Browns,
Knicks, Leafs, Bills, Indians etc etc. I guess because they literally have next to no fans and historically one of
the deadest crowds in the league literally nobody even cares to bring them up.
The Hawks are like the Hornets both from the South both just kind of exist both with next to no fanfare.
See the difference here is i have already said stuff about the hawks ineptitude and know our history and im not claiming were great or anything else. Thats exactly why im not acting like or talking down to another team making fun of them saying they wouldn't know basketball because their a hawks fan or wouldn't know it because their a fan of any other team. I know where we came from and what we are. Raptor fans obviously do not and that 1 championship from leonard is giving alot of them a big head and think it's cool to put down another person because of the team they are a fan of. Where as the raptors have literally been the exact same as the hawks their entire existence outside of last year with leonard. So i don't understand why or how they think it's cool to act like a hawks fan wouldn't know good basketball when we have watched almost the same type as basketball as every raptor fan has over the last 25 years.

As I said, I don't think he was great but all the Raptors fans are putting it on him when Lowry was the one who came up with the crucial errors.
If they can call terrible fouls, errant plays and missing certain assignments defense then sure Lowry had good defense in the 4th quarter i guess lol. My main thing here is i know Traes not good on defense and don't expect him to ever be great at it nor would he have been great out there in the 4th quarter tonight. But i also saw just as bad defense and terrible fouls from Lowry out there for most of the 4th quarter and im just calling it how it is. If i had seen the same from Kemba i would be calling for him to but i thought he played much better than Lowry did. So to me if Lowry wasn't gonna give much better defense than he did i don't need him in there screwing the offense and team over as much as he did. I can replace that with a guy that can play better offense and get others involved more and better. If lowry had been having a better game on offense or defense i wouldn't be calling for trae to be in there over him. Im not calling for trae to be in there over Kemba because kemba was doing solid overall.

Yep, there are a ton of casual fans that watch the sport. Tons.
Fact. Lowry kept that game competitive. The only person I would have subbed out would have been Kemba Walker, and it would have been for Jimmy Butler, not Trae.
Everyone else deserved to be on the floor. Lowry, especially. It's hilarious that people either refuse to acknowledge that, or just don't have the ability to identify the intangibles and nuances of the game that Lowry is so damn good at.
Keep ignoring his greatness though, it's ultimately your loss as a fan.

Or you can keep being a homer for your guy which im not mad about you should fight for your guy and realize you don't know basketball anywhere near as much as those fans of other teams you are putting down. What you are failing to realize is i love Lowry as a player and always have i'll be the 1st to give him props when he has it going but last night wasn't his night. He should have been subbed and i'll gladly take butler in there even over trae in the 4th.

Takeaways
A good amount of Lowry's defensive impact is based on the refs(much like Harden, inversely)
Anthony Davis is on par, if not better than Antetokounmpo/Gobert/Embiid/Jokic regardless of the RS records/team/individual statistics
Siakam and Walker are lower level All-Stars
Harden shoves on his stepback
Leonard isn't a contested shot maker, he's more of a conservative spot-up shooter(which TS% overrates)
Embiid and Antetokoumnpo aren't playoff proven half-court offensive players.
James, is only an great passer at this stage of his career, not an elite nor great scorer or defender.
Paul is the best 2nd best PG in the league(Lillard has to play more serious in this specific RS to get his team in a playoff bracket)

The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

If you honestly watched that game and thought Lowry was the weakest link, I don't even know what to say other than what I've already said. It's mind boggling to me, and that's with me trying to take the homer glasses off.
He was the main reason it was a competitive game. By far the main reason.

Lowry has had great playoff series ever year since 2016.
He was injured in 2015. He was injured with bursitis on his shooting elbow 2016, which he played through, and he had to have surgery in the off season. Eg. He had an excuse for why he "didn't show up". Imagine if LeBron had bursitis on his shooting elbow and shot low 30s? Everyone would be making excuses for him left and right as to why that season didn't count for him.
2017 through 2019 he's been great in the playoffs. Fantastic, even.
Your opinion on Lowry is the epitome of a casual fan.
