Can somebody tell me why Kevin Love's elbow to Derozan wasn't called a flagrant? Offensive players striking defenders w/ elbows is routinely ruled a flagrant.

I got pretty depressed, had to go out for a walk. Gotta say the weather outside is fantastic.

actually I'm pretty happy Demar passed it to Vanvleet there. 99% of the time in past seasons he'll go one on one. Vanvleet is wide open so good decision by him, he's a better playmaker this season.
Too bad Vanvleet is still injured or he'd be playing the entire 4th and overtime but he had to sit.

If the guy is injured why would he be taking the key shot in a critical game?

Ask Casey, he was desperate. We were also 3-20 down the stretch so it's not like anyone else had it going either. Wish we had our bench in there instead of the starters. We'd have more energy and better ball movement but Val was doing great so can't blame them for that.

Interesting game 1. This should be a good series

The Raps fans literally could not conceive of the possibility that Indiana being a bad matchup for the Cavs didn't also mean the Raptors were too. Like it was legitimately inconceivable. The only thing the Raps have is a legit "LeBron-stopper". Thad Young actually put the clamps on LeBron all the possessions he was on him but that wasn't Nate McMillans strategy. I thought Siakam would be another Thad Young but he doesn't have the same core strength, clearly

Lebron shot 12-30. Had literally nothing easy 5-6 of his shots fadeaway for deep 2s. Literally his worst game this post season so that doesn't add up.

I'd sit Korver and start J. Green. Not a J. Green fan for most match ups but I love him against the Raptors.
It wouldnt happen for political reasons, but the same starting lineup except Thompson for Love would be great. Tristan was the only guy that could guard JV tonight.

God doesn't want James to lose. No matter how bad he is, no matter how awful the defense is, no matter if Love appears at all, James will find a way.

There's one offense that you run during most of the game, and another in late game situations. Ball movement and motion slows down in crunch time. That's why you pay stars to make plays down the stretch. I can't really blame them, their stars just could not make plays.

I really need to take a break from this team. I over-salted the sauce of my chicken teriyaki, and after watching this game, my bp is probably 200s/120s. I have a week off this week. I'm not going to waste it getting upset.

Casey lost us that game. He should have went small with Lowry, Fred and Delon. Lowry made some horrible decision that led to TOs. Casey calling a time out with 16 secs left was bad.

It was a good no call for a flagrant. Do not let a game be decided on something so stupid with that. Hell if they wouldn't have called a foul and cavs go up the court and make a basket ud be saying "how was that not a travel"

Strange shot selection by LeBron tonight. Too many jumpers. I think he might have been trying to conserve energy for defense.

Yeah I'm with you. It was the right play.
I blame Casey though for putting a guy in who was both hurt and cold. He'd been sitting for some time and then he just inserts him for the biggest play of the game.
Didn't make sense to me at the time. Makes less sense now.

If I'm the Cavs, I'm letting them go to JV all they want. Trading 2s for 3s is not a sustainable offense. He had a monster 3rd quarter, but the 3s by Korver were also an indirect result of JV being out there on D. If Love managed to hit anything at all from deep, JV wouldn't have even been out there.

I mean I'd rather have that too, since close shots are the highest percentage of shots on the field and Jonas generates a lot of good shots. But again, he missed 12 shots, a lot of them were good easy looks. We involved him the entire game and he didn't deliver.

Not saying I'd go away from that plan, but out of all our players he had the greatest chance of building us a lead and he disappointed.

If they put Love on JV next game he going for 40! Have heart...NO WAY IN HELL LOVE OR TT CAN DEAL WITH HIM. JV balled OUT!

Like I said I'm not going away from that gameplan since it worked out well. With how many shots Jonas got he probably should have got 40 points this game. Though he missed a ton of easy shots. He's our source of easy offense. Every time he gets an inside shot that's one less shot DeMar, Lowry, and Ibaka are taking from outside. Though he missed a lot of easy shots. He's the one that was generating the highest percentage of easy shots and he went 7-19.

I'm going back to Jonas in game 2, I don't expect him to miss so many close shots again, but for this game alone, he blew it down the stretch.

Couldn’t disagree more...you always run the offense and get the best shot..and shoot it when there isnt a better shot. Its not just me that thinks this...math thinks I’m right too and math always wins.
