This was a tough loss. It's been a terrible series for Philly but this loss today was difficult to take. Two (or was it three?) big time turnovers in the final moments of the last quarter and overtime. The Simmons put back attempt up 1 with under 10 seconds to go.

I'd like to say the playoffs are getting to them but I think it's just the Celtics defense that's doing it. Oh well. Time to break an NBA record or go home and use it as motivation.

If we're talking about becoming truly great, then work ethic and health will create the separation between these guys. They all have the physical capabilities and skillsets to be truly exceptional.

Will tatum add more ball handling, consistent midrange fadeaway game à la jordan, kobe, bron these days?

Can Mitchell increase his range and stepback game and passing skills?

Will Simmons add a 3 point shot that he can knock down at a 35% clip?

It's all about discovering the flaws and working on them. They all have more than enough time to work on that.

Can Mitchell become a decent defender?

How will Tatum respond when he’s the target of the opponents best defender and plans made specifically to stop him?

Can Simmons expand his shooting range?

Future will tell

Mitchell is already a decent defender, he's actually fairly good.

Simmons needs to work at shooting. Period. That’s his main goal this offseason. Same with Fultz

Yeah no big deal, just look at Jaylen Brown this year vs. last year practically the sane player!!

I'm disappointed in his offensive play, I thought he'd be able to be an efficient volume scorer in the post-season when being the focal point but so far he has obviously been not (.483% TS this series so far...yikes), but his defensive presence has still been huge.
Hard to compete against the trifecta of Al, Tatum and Rozier though.

Embiid isn’t 100%

He’s a huge unit and not only lost a ton of weight during his layoff but aerobic fitness is way down and shooting is off

He still has bruising around the eye and that must be a big worry for the future

Noticed his cardio in this game. Come OT he just looked gassed. Crazy talent just needs to stay healthy and in game shape.

Props to Boston excellent team offense, but the Sixers are disappointing a lot of people. They are choking. And by the way, Simmons is one of the most overrated players I've ever seen, especially on this board.

SERIOUSLY! Then after the timeout Doris Burke is like "oh Marcus Morris with a very smart play to call timeout" I was like WTF were you watching!

Marcus Morris is an absolute black hole and awful offensively. He had quite a few opportunities to make the extra pass on ball swings but chooses to shoot it. Defensively he's been impressive however.

he was poor, yea he scored okay but half the time it was almost 4 on 5 out there when he ran PNR with Embid. He can't score from anywhere and couldn't post up. He provides nothing outside passing right now and he was awful on defense. Simmons shrinks the court esp when the shooters are not getting free

Yep and the hot potato shot with 8 seconds left and the 1 point lead was an extremely costly and low IQ decision and probably doesn't happen if he's a decent free throw shooter. Also he has absolutely no business playing point guard defensively, he can't stay in front of Rozier to save his life. He's so passive that he is almost invisible for large stretches. Chalk it up to growing pains and being a rookie.

I'm so dam jealous of Boston man. One of the best coaches and one of the best GM's in the game with a team that plays for each other, doesn't care about stats and has a group of high character extremely good players.

A blackhole is basically a player who doesn't pass and move the ball, a specific type of "chucker" - one who loves to burn possessions with ISOs. Normally players who love to shoot/score, have tunnel vision and/or are selfish. The ball goes to him and never comes out, hence the facetious name.

The first player I recall being called a "black hole" was Kevin McHale, who could shoot >60% from the field and then tip in some of the shots he did miss.

76ers are just inexperienced and making dumb mistakes plus vastly outcoached. Celtics are the better team.

One play. Any one play that would have won the game for Philly in regulation.

The Milwaukee series was very close for the first four games -- each home team won one blowout and one squeaker.

That said -- I've just explained why it's OK to think Philly is as good as Milwaukee. Philly in now way has shown themselves to be actually better.

You think Kyrie is a better defender or playmaker than Simmons? Bigger or stronger? I'd love to hear more about that.

Kyrie is a better player right now.
My thoughts were regarding the saric and covington vs Celtics comment you made.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Yep I agree on Morris, he's a black hole and he's super predictable. I'm over him the sooner we can get him away from this team, the better.
