I'm open to suggestions on which teams need to get the axe.

I'm thinking Boston and Denver are the first two teams I'll start with. But, where from there?

10 wins from Boston, and 5 from Orlando and Milwaukee gets you a quick 20 before even touching Denver.

Dallas could be 5, and Sac and Detroit could be 3-4 each no problem. I would consider shaving 2 more off Minnesota.

10 Boston
5 Orlando
5 Milwaukee
5 Denver
7 Lakers
4 Pelicans
4 Dallas
4 Timberwolves
4 BK
1 Heat
1 Pacers
1 Chicago
3 Detroit
4 Sacramento

Up to 58. I think I need 7 more. Will have to recalculate to make sure, but, looking for 7 more cuts.

Nets 65 wins is way too much. Consider shaving atleast 6 or 7 from their total

Don't really see how the lakers are better than the Wizards.

Just take an equal number of games off each team. You're changing your whole analysis and standings now based on other people's thoughts. That doesn't seem right.

That was masterfully written. I didn't plan on but finally read it all. Well, little shocked to see Dallas with that record and still not making the playoffs. But I can see it going down like that. Will be a fun season in the West - even if you end up with the infamous 9th spot. Can't wait.

I'm not going to change the order too much. Except in a few cases where folks have made a very convincing argument. For instance, I'm keeping BK #1 even if I drop their wins a bit.

Ok, edited a bit to get the win totals to add up to 1230. Gonna have to go back and edit each team one at a time to finish up.

Nets should be lower. Take another 5 off them.

Their team is old. Quality depth but old. They will have more nagging injuries than most and their starters will play fewer minutes in the regular season. Not to mention DNP on the 2nd half of b2b. Nets is a playoff team, not a regular season team imo.

Give the 5 wins to Philly. 12 is too low. An NBA team should be able to win 10 games just by accident especially in the East.

Overall great job.

If KG and Lopez are out, they get replaced by a 26 year old and 21 year old center. If Pierce is out, gets replaced by a 32 year old.

The team has an average age of 29. The Heat are the oldest in the league, shouldn't the old and nagging injuries theory apply to them also?

I remember posting in another thread not too long ago that possibly 4 of the league's top 5 teams are in the East next season and fans of WC teams were appalled lol

No way Nets win that many. Every "superteam" assembled like this always has growing pains at the start.

The 2008 Celtics started 29-3.
2004 Lakers started 19-3.
But, I'm not sure we've seen enough "super-teams assembled like this" to make generations either way.
Other than Miami (9-8) what other teams are you thinking of?
