This year in comparison to last year in terms of rookies is night and day. I am honestly enjoying watching the whole crop of rookies. We may not see this many good ones again in years.

!!!!! i honestly dont even remember anything about last year

maybe its the PTSD from the cousins trade, idk.

His last 10 he's averaging 18.4/4.0/5.9 on 55.1 TS% and 14.4 TOV%. Per 36 that's 21.6/4.7/6.9. His PER over that stretch is a 19.6.

Dennis Smith Jr was my pick for ROY pre-season. I love his long-term projection too. He was my no. 2 player in the draft and I think he will continue to get better and better. I haven't seen anything so far to dissuade me from thinking he's going to be a great player in the league. Athleticism, smooth game off the bounce, good playmaking and shot creation, improving and developing reads off the PnR. IMO the only thing that can make him fail is injuries.

That's fantastic. He's gonna be a good one! So many good rookies in this class.

He isn't even close to the prospect that Mitchell is. He also has a blown out knee, which is a massive strike against him.

Most overrated guy in the draft besides Ball & has Stevie Franchise written all over him. Although he seems to have more brains that Franchise, which isn't saying a whole lot.

Most people are overlooking his defense, yes. But its not suprising. Scoring is just more popular...

And Ben is not even slumping that hard. His Minutes are down so yeah his number suffer a bit .. he played over 36 Minutes before the last 10 Games its down to around 31. And yeah his defense remains elite

Overall i am so damn happy i had both Donovan and Ben really high since they entered College. I am a huge fan of both. Both are incredibly talented but also extremly High IQ Kids with great work ethic.

How terrible it would be for DSJ to become a multiple time all star. What a bust!

impressive that most of the highlights were him breaking Lillard/PTB for a on-the-hands pass. he's got a good 1st step and vision. handling seems tighter too. guards take longer to develop, got to give him time.

He honestly looks just as good of a playmaker at this level as Simmons, because he makes the right reads at the opportune times and is a huge threat to score if there's no pass within his comfort zone available. Extremely impressive. I see the Wade comparison with that high dribble pickup on his drives.

People are far too often fooled by assist numbers.

Yeah Utah has one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA, much due to injuries, and inconsistent play of Hood. So you can't really expect huge amounts of assists from our SG, especially when we depend on his scoring so much. I'm sure as a starting PG on a great offensive team he could average 7 or more apg.

EDIT: Surprisingly they are 17th in offensive rating. I could understand that or better at full health, but didn't expect them there, I expected them way lower. Anyways, Donovan has a big part to do with that, his assists come from the rest of offensive which isn't very good. With Gobert though I expect his assists to climb. He's had atleast two assists with Gobert each of the last two games.

Even if DSJ becomes 2 time all star the ACL thing is big fat negative. His career wont last for 10 years and will lose all the limited explosion by 30.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

I don't see him living up to the hype. Scoring PG in the mould of the early 00's fad. I think his game won't translate at the highest levels. Could be wrong, we'll see. Looks like a poor man's Mitchell if anything.

Whole lot of leaping to conclusions about DSJ around here. Can't trust his health because of his knee, just a scoring PG...sounds like 4 or 5 years back when GSW were a treadmill team 'cause Curry and his ankles weren't going to get it done. DSJ has shown flashes, maybe let him play a year or two before writing him off.

Lakers' all rookie line-up:
Alex Caruso
Lonzo Ball
Josh Hart
Kyle Kuzma
Thomas Bryant

Not bad. Any other team even have 5 rookies?

It normally takes one and done rookie PGs a few years at least to work it out in the NBA. I was really high predraft on him and see no reason to change my own projection about him. The only issue with him right now is he's a pretty bad to terrible defender and is almost unplayable against certain lineups. Again, that's not uncommon among young rookie PGs.
