As I stated earlier, JJJ is going to be an animal now that Gasol is gone. Playing with a totally different energy and has 20 at half against the Thunder.

JJJ about to shoot up on the rookie ladder. 8-)
I'd love to see what Bagley is capable of too if he were to get 30+ minutes a game.

JJJ isn't used to this work load. He is getting more minutes and is much more involved. It is wearing him down as the game goes on causing his efficiency to drop at the end of games. Heck he couldn't even make either of his free throws the other game as time was expiring. He'll have to build up that stamina the rest of the season and this offseason. Love the kid though and agree Bagley with regular minutes would be fun to see.

I expect JJJ to score 20 plus now that Gasol is gone.

Steven Adams played a very physical game JJJ had to guard him (grizz had no Cs for this game)and took all his energy away.

Lebron James with the Doncic statline 28/12/12... this Lebron guy will be good someday :P

On a serious note. JJJ will be interesting to watch now. How good and efficient can he become as a main or 2ndary threat on the MEM team. I strongly believe we might see why some analysts had him above Ayton and Bagley pre-draft. But it's still werid that even Doncic averages more RPG than him at this point.

It’s funny to see people’s opinions changing every week. A week ago Huerter was better player than JJJ.

JJJ has incredible potential and he’s the youngest.

You know at end of the day this class overall has been so fun to watch.

Donic -pretty much a pro since day one.

Trae -is still raw but you can see the potential there.

Ayton -Doing his best in Phoenix but he needs a PG ASAP.

JJJ-Defense and offensive potential is crazy still raw though .

Bagley -part of that young team in SAC

And the others contribute pretty much every where.

So what you're saying is that he did his best Westbrook impression?

plz don't kill me Bondom, it's just a joke.

Yeah, not really flattering. But they won the game, so maybe he gets a tiny pass (no sarcasm).

Johnny Firpo wrote:exciting to watch Luka do his thing without any of the ball stoppers (well, with a new ball stopper, THJ :D ).

I don't know, didn't seem like that to me yesterday. THJ has shown to be a willing passer.

Timmy is a willing passer when he's engaged and the team is competitive. When they suck he checks out. There's 2 players in there, Timmy and Bud Timmy. The Tim that was molded by Bud will be one of Doncic's favorite teammates. Moves extremely well without the ball and gets himself wide open.

I really love JJJ but his shot is not ok and a lot of those shots he threw yesterday could have easily been misses just by decision/mechanic stand point.

He needs to work on it in order to be more consistent and to improve his game, but like I said I love the guy and how hard he works :)

Ya his mechanics on his shot was the main thing I was always iffy on. It just looks so funky and hard to replicate every time.

Doncic's FTs are becoming a real problem. I thought it was just temporary, but it's been over a month of bad FT shooting now. He was shooting .801 last year and .819 the year before. You can't regress that much.

2 assists in a game, I didn't think I would still see that.

Energy. Dominique was talking about it with Trae and his FT shooting for a rookie. I have no doubt Luka is probably a 85% or better guy.

It's a lot harder when you have such a young team regardless of the talent level of the players. I said this with Trae. He would have a lot more assists then he do if we just had ONE really competent vet.

Could be from the increased 'workload' of primarily playing PG and more responsibility in the offense now. (and also the long NBA season). His shooting numbers are all down but his pts/asts/rebs are all way up.

Including tonight's game:

79% in Oct/Nov
74% in Dec
66% in Jan/Feb

75% at Home
70% on the Road

Overall .726

I actually feel kinda bad for Doncic over his increased responsibilities - this last stretch of games is going to be pretty rough.
He seemed pretty dejected after the game against the Hornets when asked about the Barnes trade.
Donnie said in the post-trade deadline interview that Doncic's good rookie season was the main reason for the accelerated Mavs rebuild. It was obviously Donnie's decision to pull off these trades but in a strange twist it was due to Doncic.
