Once he's on, note all 200 or whatever players in the call down and leak that list afterwards.
I guarantee you at least 70% of the names will be of players from teams out of the playoff race.

If it's 200, the math doesn't work with 6 teams out of the playoff race.

That being said, assuming the NBA wants those RS games because of the money, maybe the solution should have been to play the regular season games while letting the players go as they please. Then take 1 week off to isolate the remaining players and play the playoffs in a bubble, with the 1st round being best of 5. So that's at worst a month and a half in the bubble and guys are actually playing for something.

I also think they should have gone with 18-20 teams instead of 22.

Players mad their voices were not heard? Deal with your NBPA.

Players concerned they are entertainment? This was always the case since you entered the league

Time to get Kyrie out of these discussions. No one should care what he thinks. He's not playing. If players don't want to play they can sit at home and watch.

Perhaps they should allow each player a “plus one” like a wedding- while requiring that person to follow the same protocol and testing as the players

I disagree with this. Just my opinion. I believe all the momentum to stop bigotry, racial profiling, social injustice And completely change a broken system would be benefited by having athletes, especially nba players voicing there opinions on a worldwide public platform and I don’t think the nba would stop them (nor should Adam silver or the nba).

I think it would be amazing to show the world that the Nba stands in solidarity with protestors and black lives matter. The nba has very intelligent players that need to be heard- seeing someone with so much power like lebron James on a nightly basis voicing his opinion or taking a knee would be a constant reminder to how far America needs to go.

There are several people in real life situations like working 2 jobs full time to make ends meet that are out on the front lines of the protests and still have to work and they don’t have nearly the platform or influence of an nba player/celebrity sadly.

Sadly we have so far to go as a society to make this work and inspire real change - I don’t think having an nba season would set that back or make players come across as not caring- use your platform, Speak your message, tell the world.

If they are upset that they are “entertainment” - that’s always been the case. You don’t want to be seen as entrainment for fans they should find another profession like the rest of us average joes.

Like I’m sorry you get to make millions of dollars entertaining us - but trust me 99% of the people watching would gladly trade places with you. I’m starting to get annoyed w/ all this anger and resentment towards fans that seems to be growing among NBA players - I can see them not liking the owners cause contention between labor and management has always been a thing in almost all industries, but these payers hating fans? There wouldn’t even be a league if it wasn’t for us fans. Goodness. Really just screw any players that feel that way. If a company was filled w/ employees who hated the customers, i wouldn’t want to buy anything from them, and the game goes for this.

Now if they are okay with playing but just don’t like the quarantine situation that’s another issue. And I can understand how they feel and I probably wouldn’t like that either. I’d probably be arguing to just freakin play games regular or at the very least don’t have such strict lockdowns at this bubble and let the players go out and do certain things and allow visitors. If they are testing everyone all the time, what’s the big deal. Player is careless and goes somewhere he shouldn’t and gets infected, oh well - now he’s out and it’s on him. Or teams can manage their players individually allowing team caption type of roles to set the direction.

Do those guys know, that canceling the season probably hits them really hard financially? Not just now, but probably for a couple years?

Wouldn't the salary cap probably plummet and need quite some time to get back to this years level? And I could see the owners really taking advantage of the cancelling in the next CBA deal.

Kyrie Irving is the NBPA VP. Pretty sure they're trying to make their voices heard.

Get to watch basketball on TV at least (if they care)

Or make them even potential far spectators (if they were to follow the bubble rule)

I really doubt nba players are dying to WATCH games. They want to go out into public. They're social creatures.

I meant the workers at Disney

They can go outside, in their campus/bubble

This is where you really show how committed you are

Someone like Lebron, Kawhi (I believe), and Giannis are 100% all in

Sure, but what about the 6th and 7th men on teams? Those guys make or break title teams. They're also the guys who have massive wealth by normal standards but aren't going to get their egos fluffed up like those guys.

I'd like to ask these players would they like to not play the next 2-3 seasons because Rona's not going away, and nobody knows when a vaccine is coming and how good it will be. Gotta play sometime..........I dont think the situation improves by december. Even next december 2021...........but at that pint they'll be begging to play for some money

You would think a VP would have a vote mandate before the NBPA agrees with the league. Like not afterwards. Chris Paul and Irving might not be on the same page.

Also even if 200 players join the zoom meeting, that's expected... What else do they have going on where they can't attend, even if your planning to play 100%. Everyone can listen, even if you playing

Disney support staff, as of now, will NOT be subject to NBA's bubble protocols with daily testing/quarantine. They are free to go in and out of campus, per a Disney union official.

This is gonna fall apart so quickly. As exciting as it might be for some fans, it's better to keep expectations low.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker

Kyrie is the leading force behind canceling a season he's not even going to play in. No one should care what he thinks in this situation.

Is having a vote mandate in procedures or could they simply vote as elected proxies? I'm not gonna pretend to know NBPA procedures so I won't even guess on that. All we know is players are airing their grievances through Kyrie Irving, the NBPA VP.

Hopefully the 'compromise' is that disney workers are bubbled and tested. If they do that, the players have zero leg to stand on from safety concerns. Probably would be safest place in the US. Hopefully the players that want more freedom realize they only get paid if this goes off without major hitches.

Wonder if they got buy-in from guys like Lebron, Giannis, Davis early. I bet those guys want to play at all costs for a shot at a ring. KL is a wild card. No idea what side he would be on.

You can't bubble Disney workers. That makes absolutely no sense. They are not staying in a bubble 24/7 for 3 months. They have children and do not have millions.

Shifts of 1 month and split into 3 groups

Pay 1.5-2x salary

Some players have huge contracts and the less they play, the less they'll get.
