Westbrook wasn't an elite scorer.

The guy lead the league in scoring... Not Harden good, but definitely elite.

Efficiency.

Maxey is straight up feasting with James and Hardin on the court. Such a great fit. Though, I want to see them play a contender before I book em'.

Still think the Nets benefit from the trade a tad more. Kyrie gonna get to play with such a low record in the east. They might upset everyone as a play in team lol.

I am not really understanding how the Nets still benefit from the trade more. The Sixers got - by far - the best player in the deal. A player that not only solves a lot of their problems on offense, but a guy whose mere presence of the floor with Embiid is giving TONS of space on the floor to Maxey, who is grabbing that ish with both hands.

Curry is a great shooter. Drummond was a vets minimum signing. And Simmons?

Cue the Peter Griffin "Mystery Box" GIF.

Embiid averaged 30/12 on 60% TS, next best on the Sixers were Josh Richardson with 17ppg on 36% fg and Tobias with 16ppg on 38% fg.

So it wasn't 4 on 5 because of Simmons

You could argue we had no semblance of ballhandling or remotely good guard play on the rest of the roster because of the commitment to Simmons as PG

I love using Embiid's true shooting %, but Richardson and Harris FG% to make the gulf seem even larger.

Embiid
45.9% FG, 60% TS

Richardson
36% FG, 50% TS

Harris
38% FG, 46% TS

Still pretty bad, but I gotta call you out for comparing apples to oranges to paint a narrative.

They got the best player, but the Nets may have the best combination for 3 players. KD and Irving are excellent scorers and the first and second options. Simmons just gotta play D and get 15. Nets also got Curry, one of the best 3 point shooters in the league alongside Harris. Drummond isn't great, but brings something they need, rebounding. Gotta see them altogether before declaring either won tbh, but just my observation.

Hard to see how Harden is other than greatly better than Simmons now that it is apparent he is healthy/not crocked. It is however imo still within the realm of possibility that the combination at the Nets could prove better if Simmons can give them something defensively and playmaking-wise, given Harden at the time of the trade was not giving the Nets much, both Embiid and Harden still have to prove they can deliver deep in the play-offs which KD and Kyrie do not, and in particular given that a healthy Durant is the best player on either team.

Even in regular season, his efficiency was always around league average. His scoring was a product of having more touches than other stars. But yeah, his playoff efficiency is historically bad.

Usually be a good correction but it's not hiding anything in this case. I was probably trying to cut corners with the stats to make the point quickly (which, sure, call me on it) but the point/data isn't disingenuous or anything:
--League average FG% in 2019 was 46%, so Richardson was 10% below average and Harris was 8% below; Embiid looks average there, while Richardson and Harris look obviously very bad
--League average TS% was 56% in 2019, so Embiid was 4% above the average, while Richardson was 6% below and Harris 10% below; more importantly, only the biggest super-duper-stars score close to 30pts on close to 60% TS, making Embiid's #'s truly elite; on the other hand, in 2019 there were a grand total of 9 rotation players in the league who had a TS% worse than Richradson shot that series (all of them scrubs and rookies), and only rookie Jordan Poole had a worse TS% that entire season than Harris shot that series. And of course all those guys weren't putting up nearly the volume that Harris/Richardson did that series. The pure TS% comparison makes it clearer how dominant Embiid was and how miserably awful Richardson and Harris were

Sixers need Harden, he's their MVP.

I was completely wrong about him, I thought he regressed but he was clearly just checked out.

Dude's the best player on the team.

You gotta be delusional or trolling to not see swapping in Harden for Seth Curry as an upgrade. Unless you thought they had Steph Curry?
That was the joke. This clown had Celtics above the Sixers even though they were already ahead of them and essentially replaced Curry with Harden.

Don't get too upset if the Sixers get taken out by Boston in the playoffs.

Celtics are welcome to sag off sixers point guard anytime they want. We will see what happens with smart or whoever wants to help out guarding embiid and leave sixers point guard alone.

Or guard the pick and roll and go under the pick and roll and leave the sixers current point guard alone for step back 3 pointers.
