I think its because both guys are willing to say whatever the network tells them to say. They are treating it more like a model UN whereas other guys like to try and say their genuine opinions which can sometimes interfere with network agenda.

Hollywood age casting has always been absurd but casting 60 yr old Brad Pitt as a F1 driver is absurd even by their low standards. The average age of a driver is under 30. It would be like casting Tom Cruise as an NBA center.

Yup. With Perk, he is a former player so it's even more shameful that he tears down other players, including former teammates & tries to stir racial controversy.

The guy had a few serviceable years on an incredibly talented team, and was otherwise a scrub who was a walking low light reel.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the loudest stadiums in the NBA (actually something that dates back to the KG days... though there was a gap period), Minnesota sports fans are rowdy. General attitude among Timberwolves fans is that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a massive flopper (the extent to which that is fair doesn't really matter), so he's kind of on the **** list.
