Man, Baron Davis didn't make the all-star team after the show he put on for the world last playoffs, AND he's been putting up tremendous stats this year. Putting a Warriors team who everyone is accustomed to seeing as a losing team, as a winning squad this year.

Damn, this is just the result of Portland being a "feel good" story of the NBA and Baron Davis having a reputation as a "thug", even though every Warriors fan out there will tell you how much of a great guy he is.

Very surprised David West made it. Not that I am saying he does not deserve it, I am saying I am surprised.

By the way, Baron puts up better numbers than Roy, but Roy is a far better defender, which I think makes him deserving.

 Lebron would beg to differ in the fourth quarter last night.

I don't think Roy should have been there just yet, Deron Williams and Chris Paul got snubbed last year and were playing better ball than Roy is, and Baron is playing better this year so far. Not a huge blunder, but I wouldn't have done it :dontknow:

Big props to West, he deserves it, perfect second star, hard working, super smart, love him.

The Joe Johnson selection was a horrible choice. Ray Allen was shafted. Two years ago when Detroit was rolling they had four players make the team. I mean Rasheed Wallace made it for crying out loud! Boston had the best record in the league and they only have the same number of All-Stars as Denver.

I must admit Roy and West took me by surprise, but considering their teams' unexpected hot start it wasn't that surprising.

im not tryin to be a homer, but baron is playing great this season. ROY is a great young player, but he'll have his chances down the road...melo got snubbed til lhis third season.

Camby got snubbed...defensive player of the year who is grabbing 14 boards and 3 blocks isnt in the all-star game?! amazing. Dwest isnt even pullin 10 boards is he ?

I don't think you're being a homer. I've lived in SF for a few years and have become a HUGE Davis fan, but I grew up in Portland and the Blazers are still my team. Basically, BOTH of those guys deserve to be in the game, as does Deron Williams. This year the West is so stacked that somebody had to miss out, and I guess coaches decided that the leadership Roy brings to such a young team goes beyond anything that shows up in the stats.

Roy might have a broken hand, though, so Baron may end up in the game anyway.

No but if that's what the requirements are, he's pulling down more than 2 of the other big men that's been selected to the West team. Not by a lot but he is. I believe had the Hornets record not been #1 at the time of the voting, he may not have made it.

Also, Im not buying Camby over David West....

Nuggets with 3 All Stars vs Hornets 1??

Nuggets 27-18; Hornets 32-13

Sure Camby is far superior on defense, but West is just as superior on offense

Ray Allen?? Just cuz a team has a bunch of wins doesn't mean it should have a bunch of all stars. I think they should just have 6 reserves from the East. Nobody deserved that last spot. JJ, Hedo, Calderon, Allen. They're having good seasons, but come on, none of them are all stars.

I'm not either, for the same reason.
Let West have his all-star appearance, but give Camby his DPOY.
Having said that, Baron/Deron>David West, damnit.

+1

42%, 38% while playing with 2 other All Stars is pretty pathetic for a shooter of Allen's caliber

Do you people even realize that most of the All-Star game attendees are people from corporate sponsors and such? Maybe some season ticket holders but most people that attend the actual All-Star game aren't "hometown people". Of course West has been playing like sh*t and doesn't deserve it.

Going into Tuesday voting the Hornets had the best record in the West. 2 players on a #1 team would make a lot of sense.
