Funny how Lebron can easily shift the narrative his way with upcoming 3 national televised games if he just plays up to what we expect from him (obviously the Finals Rematch and vs. KD).
Now now just a reminder he is the best and most valuable (if he still is) he just haven't been this year is all the doubt it will take to erase the huge lead Durant has on him IMO.
Lebron may be the only one who can earn a narrative MVP and still not cheapen it since the majority of the opinion is that he is still the best just coasting at least to me. Now he may end up outproducing Durant by the end of the season (I doubt so) or just isn't up to snuff these next 3 games and this is all a moot point. But it's interesting to think about. Lebron using narrative rather than raw gaudy dominance over the rest of the league in the MVP race.
My last post for now, but I think at this point KD has built up enough of a lead that he's bought himself at least 1 of the OKC/Miami matchups. By that I mean, he can stink it up while LeBron dominates and he should still have a comfortable lead for the MVP. Don't think he can do that twice yet though.
Normally I'd agree but because the media still thinks Lebron is close to DPOY caliber. If he does his 30-10-9 and holds Durant to 24-7-4 on bad shooting or something like that, you'll see the SEE he's the best Offensive and Defensive player of the 2, people are forgetting the defensive side of the ball where Lebron is great.
While Lebron has actually been mediocre (for his high standards) defensively this year and OKC has been a much, much better defensive team (more to do with the team than Durant though he's pulling his weight).
I'm just putting it out there, the perception of what Lebron is (which he has earned) and the clear acknowledgment that he's coasting can be brought out if he reminds us why people thought he was approaching GOAT/BOAT level regular season last year. Top 1 Offense/ Top 5-10 Defense (Top 2 for a wing).
