Yes. The CBA doesn't permit oral commitments. All contracts must be in writing. In some cases, parties can even be punished for coming to oral agreements if the intent is to get around the CBA. That's why Boozer got away with lying to the Cavs former owner - who was actually a blind man.

Then, wow! So, if Player X (Say, Jordan) wanted to mess up Organization Y (Dallas), this is how to do it.

Were you enraged when Turkoglu did the same and signed with you guys, even after agreeing in principal to a deal with another team?!?!

After he saw old Turk play, I bet he was enraged.

Slimy move by the Clippers. DJ is a dick if he goes back on his agreement.

Mavs fans are just bitter. Look at the situation objectively. DJ has little incentive to play in Dallas. He has all the opportunity in the world in LA.

No other star calibre players out there. Do they really just go for role players or blow it up?

If Jordan doesn't come to Dallas, Mark Cuban wants to tank. Where does this leave Dallas' agreement with Matthews? Dallas really won't want to pay Matthews in tank mode.

Matthews is a 3&D guy coming off a major injury, he's not going to carry a franchise that doesn't really have any other great players atm.

nothing changes except they gain the full MLE vs the taxpayer MLE but most of that is already promised to Truth. They need Jordan. Which is why they should have taken it more seriously in the 1st place.

Now they're going full SWAT mode to get on their knees and open their mouths. Hope CP3 has that apology letter he forged.

You're probably the only Clipper fan on this board being consistent. Much respect.

I think most Mavs fans would agree the Clippers made more sense. I have no issue with that. I do have major issue with how this is being handled by him and the Clippers tho.

So what? If that's true, then DJ should have realized that in the first place. It's not like he hadn't been playing there for a while.

I take your point, but hell yeah! I hated him. He had a good stretch in one playoffs and suddenly he's clutch? That was stupid.

The New York Stock Exchange has halted all trading until DJ makes this decision.
