I can't believe people will be rooting against Embiid just cos some posters are getting carried away with preseason hype. The NBA NEEDS big men like Embiid. I sure as hell will be rooting for him.

Just the psychology/natural reaction of people when something (i.e. the way people value things) is unfair based on their beliefs.

Right now, most people are mixed on how they project Embiid's value due to eye candy style of play, good production on limited sample size and history of injury. All of which are understandable. But I'd say things do favor the probability of him being a high production player for around +-10 seasons unless there is some unforseen circumstances like Injury that will come up.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

If Embiid injures himself, it will certainly not be unforeseen.

18 and 9 in 18 minutes, in a game he was in constant foul trouble. If Brown's plan is to play him 24 minutes, he's gonna to put up All-star like numbers.

Really happy to see the guy finally playing and looking good.

Good news for Sixer fans, should be fun to watch them if they can develop the talent they have.

He's like a bigger Amare, injuries and all. He's amazing tho. KAT, Porz, Embiid and AD are that new wave of big man.

I don't think unforeseen means what you think it means.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

I think Embiid has the most potential of those four, but hes also probably the least likely to maximize his potential. I think KAT is the most likely to maximize his potential and will probably end up being the best of the four. I would put AD right there with KAT if it wasn't for his injury troubles.

not based on how fast he grows his game out on the court. just stunning how quickly he identifies and adapts new skills.

(if you're talking health risk, "there you go with them negative waves again, Moriarity.")

I have to say he looks scary. Like Shaq and Hakeem had a Baby.. thats just unfair.
I think the only question for him is if he can stay healthy. After missing 2 Seasons thats obvouisly a huge question but.. If he can... oh boy...

He just missed two full seasons for a pretty debilitating injury for a man of his size. People were worried about his career due to those injuries. 7 preseason games don't suddenly make him durable.

No one is guaranteeing he will be injury free now. No one knows if he can last 10,15 years in the NBA.. Hell no one knows if he can last 10,15 Games in the NBA...

For me its clear that the Rest of the NBA has to pray he cant stay healthy. He seems like a Mix between Shaq and those mobile,Shooting Modern Guys like KAT,AD etc.. with some Hakeem mixed into his Footwork and Defensive Potential.

It is clear that IF healthy(That IF is extremly huge!!!!!) he could even outshine his Draft Day comparison in Hakeem.
He has grown an Inch since the Draft and he has added alot of bulk without looking out of Shape.
A guy as Big,Large,Strong AND Mobile has not been seen since Shaq... In a NBA where Centers are evolving into more and more Stretch Fives.. he could be unguardable.

Now all that beeing said.. If he cant stay healthy he could go down as one of those tragic "What If" Players..

He missed two seasons for the same injury because he got the wrong surgery. His first surgery was done on the advise of his management team at the time. The second surgery was done after extensive research by Hinkie and company. If Hinkie and company had been involved in the surgery process from the start he would have just missed one season.

I predict if he stays healthy he will surpass Drummond by seasons end. Already looked good going head to head with him.

So he has to lead the league in rebounding and make an All-Star team in the same year?
