Not really.

BOS if healthy is clearly the best team in the East. Half of our "core" is coming out of their prime (in Ibaka's case wayyyyy past it) while BOS and PHI are only ascending.

Not me. I will now lustily cheer on the Warriors. Part of me was rooting for this so I could actually want GS to keep dominating, lol.

Eh. I'm actually a Lebron fan dude. He's very likable for me and I want him to break Kareem's points record and win another ring or two and go down as the GOAT. Plus I'm sick of watching GS win.

LeBron James is never going down as the GOAT. That ship sailed away for good in 2011.

He can be a laker all he wants to doesn’t mean we have to trade him there

The sooner you come to terms with reality, the better for you. At least you'll get a Kuzma and some nice pieces + picks.

I honestly respect that he did it sooner than I expected. His kids going to LA schools made me think he was bound to the Lakers all along. I think he wants to be like Jay Z and transcend basketball once he retires, be a global mogul.

He has to get rid of Ball, though.

Thank god, the East and some teams in it can actually compete for titles in the near future.

Boogie following and then Ingram+ to SAS?

Can’t imagine Pop would want to send him there. I’d guess Boogie would be the next most likely star to land in LA.

I'm curious to see how he meshes with Luke Walton. Part of me thinks he's going to tune him out eventually.

This Lakers team will be extremely different in less than 1 years time. No Walton, Ball, Kuzma, or Ingram. They probably keep Randle, get Kawhi and trade for Kemba.

From the very beginning, he emphasized the increased role his family would play in the decision this time around. While I think he would definitely love to win another title or two, this move to me was more about family, lifestyle and off the court business. I really thought he'd remain in the East and go to Philly. I am really intrigued to see what the Lakers go from here. @ people thinking the Lakers will not make the playoffs, they just added the best player in the world, they'll make the playoffs.

Interested to see what happens with our guys now. Honestly hope we trade Love for picks and tank it this year so we can keep our own pick but I think Gilbert has way too much pride for that unfortunately.

Let Love get 26/13 til Feb, then trade.

Cavs could contend int he East with Love. No reason to blow that team up

Contend for a playoff spot maybe, but even then I don't think this team is better than a Charlotte or Detroit and we saw where they ended last year.

Lol. Lakers fans won't remember who kobe was four years from now. The difference in talent will be clear now that the bias is gone

I think I get it now.

A couple hours ago, LA was not a true FA destination, and that small markets were on top, etc etc.

Now, its geographical location.

its always been that. the lakers arent a winning team, so he didnt go for that. you could say he went for his family, the city, the fame and lights, whatever...its all geography. not a basketball move.

but maybe he already knows more stars are coming...

If Zo and Ingram didn't sit the last month of the season, they would've at least been a .500 team in the west with the youngest roster in the NBA. They were on the rise and Lebron hopped on at the right time.

Rocketsbaby wrote:People must be joking about Lebron giving up on winning. THis team is loaded with cap space and young tradeable assets.

Certainly a better situation than he had in Cleveland. At least the guy has some balls and went to another team where he is the focal point instead of a sidekick like Durant did.

LeBron would be the focal point regardless of where he went. The Lakers roster may be a bit better than the Cavs roster, but the differences in terms of talent between conferences more than made up for that. He won't fairy any better in the West with the Lakers than he would have in the East with the Cavs. So basketball wise, this move makes zero sense. His best basketball move would've been Philly. Weaker conference and the best roster of the 3 teams he was considering.
