If you’re the Pels, do you trade the pick? Maybe Atlanta, who is reportedly very interested in Jarrett Culver. Could take multiple picks from them. Or do you keep it?

Yeah, they still gotta build around LeBron and AD and hope for no serious injuries, a lot can happen until next June.

After this trade do the Lakers have enough cap space to offer someone a max deal?

I think so, not 100 percent sure though.

I'm surprised the Pelicans didn't hold out for Kuzma too.

Dude. Anthony Davis is a 28/10 big man and a top 5-7 player in the league.
In the climate of a non-GS NBA, he and LeBron are the best duo in the league.
Add another All-Star caliber player in a Butler or Kemba, in free agency and it's not even close.

This is so awesome, can’t wait to see what other moves they pull off. Max free agent superstar in coming.

So glad Raps got their chip. Masai needs to make some moves because the Lakers are going back to the finals.

Wait. When the Lakers had the pick all we heard was that pick wasn't good enough in a 3 pick draft and that they needed a 3rd team to get pels something better than the 4th?

These reporters just spew bs left and right.

End of one behemoth and the birth of a new one. All within two weeks. Gotta love this league.

Honestly I do not get why everyone thinks the Lakers own the league. Lebron is another year older and AD is a great player. However, outside of that the Lakers don't have any anything. If Kuzma was Klay or Dray level then sure you may have something. However he is a role player.

You still have the Rockets, Blazers and Nuggets and Jazz in the conference. Hell, if the Raps keep Leonard then they are the best team still.

Or another way to look at it, the Lakers traded for a guy that averaged 26pts/12rebs/4asts/2.5blks last year.

In their defense LeBron won a title with Kyrie Irving, who IIRC has made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs . . . . 1 time in his career without LeBron.

Kuzma is a overrated. I can understand why the Lakers like having a cheap productive player under contract but I might almost prefer the extra FRP that New Orleans got instead.

KD is hurt, so he is out. Watching him play, I dont really see any reason to say he isnt on the same level as anyone currently playing in the league.

Bron
AD
Steph
Giannis
Harden

He is as good as anyone of them (guess that would be consensus top 5)...assuming Bron has really lost a step.

Garland/Ball
Holiday/Moore
Ingram/Hart
Williamson
Randle/Okafor

Instant rebuild and they could even get younger if they traded Holiday for #6 and drafter Culver. That is probably the best rebuilding team in the league with 2 fresh rookie contracts.

Need to sign a stretch 5 like Brook Lopez though. No real need for Randle with Zion.

Ramona Shelburne is saying that the picks appear to be 2019 (4), 2021, 2023 and that the Pels appear to have pick swaps because she says something about them controlling LA’s picks for 7 years.

The Pels specifically did NOT want one of the picks to be 2020 because they thought that was the year that the Lakers would be most successful. And probably because 2021 is scheduled to be a double draft anyway.
