I love Doncic and I don't like the trade because Lakers don't have assets to build a good team around him. I think he doesn't fit well in the current Lakers roster.

Dallas starting lineup is scary. PJ, AD a Gafford should provide an elite defense. Roster is more balanced now but they will not have psycho-playoff Luka anymore.

This season doesn't even matter. Lakers solved their post LeBron future. Getting a star is the hardest part of a rebuild and they just got top 3 mvp candidate that hasn't even entered his prime

Meanwhile, the Lakers, after a few years of mismanagement, bereft of draft assets and with an aging roster, simply go out and land Luka Doncic, setting them up for years to come.

I know I should be used to it by now but my goodness that's discouraging.

Luka came in out of shape and got injured a couple of times. But this is kinda excessive, no?

I kinda cant fault them for trading Luka considering he hasnt addressed the conditioning problems and its led to more and more injuries and loss of athleticism. Rare moment of a franchise trading while the value is near peak

But they could gotten a bit more, but then again, there might be some more troubling things on his physicals that we dont know about

He limped his way through the playoffs and had probably 1 good series against Minny, then came into this season out of shape.

I dont have a problem with the Mavs getting ahead of this and coming to the conclusion that Luka is unreliable as your MVP who will be getting paid 60-70 mill per year. The problem is deciding to continue to contend while trading him. You coulda got a boatload from Houston for him (one of the players Amen is on the table for) while trading Kyrie to the Lakers for more picks. It was a bad trade, not necessarily a bad conclusion
