That is so backward it hurts.

It's really not that hard to figure out if you have a working brain.

If you're playing a young team core with the intent of growing with that base, it's not necessarily tanking at that point. However, it doesn't negate the fact that you may have tanked in the past or absolve you of it.


So... how does a team get the young core worth growing? Once again... you are saying it is okay to get high draft picks if you have already gotten high picks.

It's difficult, but not impossible, to get a young core without extended losing - that's the frickin' problem. What I'm saying is the NBA should ideally make it LESS difficult. You shouldn't have to hit rock bottom before you can start again on the team development curve. You shouldn't be incentivized to win 15 games as opposed to 25 or 35. You shouldn't be punished for hanging on to decent but not great players like Jrue Holiday.
