He's a better floor spacer than both AD & Giannis, who both play with centers....its okay to admit you were wrong on this lol. And both Theis & Wood are versatile enough to be able to close out on spot up shooters in the corner. It's not like PJ Tucker is being ran off screens or anything....guys like PJ Tucker are literally the easiest guys to guard in the league.

AD is a perennial dpoy candidate and giannis plays with brook who shoots at a higher rate than wood. playing the four is an entirely different role than being a back line defender like theis preferred role. I’m wrong about my subjective opinion that wood and theis are a clunky fit ? enjoy your night you can keep quoting me but i’m not getting into a fruitless back n forth on here.

Both AD and Giannis are a clunky fit with their centres in a lot of situations. Both guys can just switch to C though and have a greater impact so it's not a problem.

When I mentioned Giannis and AD, I was talking fit offensively.

Me too, works on both ends.

The issue isn't about wood not being able to shoot, he's a really good shooter, issue is when he has to be the floor spacer because the other big can't do that, his biggest strength as a pick an pop/roll man is taken away. Don't love the fit either

Still have no doubt he’ll be good tho

Suggs was playing against bench guys and he looked god awful. Couldn't take a single player off the bounce to gain even the slightest advantage in the half-court. Like you said, Suggs was supposed to be the can't miss / highest floor / safest pick in the draft. Not calling him a bust after 2 pre-season games, but it just goes to show you how much you can trust those smug "draft experts" like Sam Vecenie, who are hilariously wrong, year after year after year.

I didn’t get to actually watch the game so I’m just looking at the stat sheet. I recall he was highly touted as a prospect who brings a lot of intangibles that don’t really show on the stat sheet (similar to guys like Lowry, Smart, Draymond, etc).

Did you get to watch the game? Was he able to at least impact the game in ways that didn’t show up in the stat sheet?

Are you sure you’re not mixing him up with Scottie Barnes, who the Raptors drafted ahead of Suggs? Barnes was the “intangibles” guy in this year’s draft.

Jalen Green looks scary good. Not sure I have seen that type of talent from a SG since early Kobe / TMac days. Just absolutely effortless.

I think he is going to make DET regret taking Cade very quickly. I just dont see a comparison in terms of raw, natural talent.

+1. Has the "this guys got it" feel you got when you watched Doncic first play. You can tell he's a star

No, actually they are similar player in strengths and weaknesses, but Suggs was easily the better shooter in college.

We criticized the league because all the teams play the exact same style but at the same time criticizes anyone that tries to do something different. I'm just exhausted by the "everyone has to be able to shoot 3s or they're trash" mindset about the league. I'm excited to see if Houston can be creative and do something different.

They were both touted as an intangibles prospect but Suggs was touted as being more NBA ready to run an offense while Barnes was always touted as a project who would need more time

Yep call me impressed with Primo - only one game and pre-season, but he appears to have natural talent and good physical tools.

He may be really good and fairly soon.

2021 draft class if anything looks very very deep, not 100% sold on the top end but there’s a lot there for every team as long as they scouted/drafted astutely.
