All these fake stars eager to change places just get baptised by Giannis in the end.

Cap. Everyone agrees as currently constructed, Philly isn't scaring anyone. Now it's a different story because the trade is gaining serious traction lmao. Real GM is hilarious with their takes

Exactly this. I feel like some of these rumours make Philly worse - short and long term. Now if it's a non-playing Simmons for Harden basically straight up?

I'm quite surprised, that Sixers are bulking at Simmons, Seth Curry, Thibulle and Drummond.
Nets are not even asking for draft picks.
I think it's quite reasonable.

If sixers keep budging, Nets should walk away and force Sixers to clear cap space.
Or do what Ujiri did, and threaten to trade Melo to Nets ironically.

The return for Nets....
they trade Lavert ( converted to FRP and one SRP)
traded Jarret Allen (equals one FR)
3 unprotected FRPs
4 swaps

for James harden --> Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Thibulle......

essentially they traded 5 FRPs, 1 SRP, for Ben Simmons (who refuse to shoot), Curry...that's quite an underwhelming return

And the thing is the Sixers don’t even want to do this trade! They actually believe Simmons and Green is enough value. Imagine selling your fan base on that trade for Ben Simmons.

And the funniest thing is that Sixers fans are like Morey’s insane trade demands are reasonable, but all the Nets are asking for here is Thybulle, Curry and Drummond lol, not even an additional first yet that’s too much. Sixers don’t want to trade Simmons for garbage but the believe Morey should be allowed to rip off every team in a trade.

Morey's leaking to the media.

Nets aren't in any rush to make a deal unless it makes them markedly better.

Absolutely. If Simmons was playing, I actually think the Nets would have to throw something in (though I admittedly very low on Harden (especially going forward)).

You can't say in one take that that James harden is old, fat, and aging with a pending massive contract then in the next take act baffled to why Philly is hesitant to give up two all defense young players, one of the best shooters in history, and one of the better back up centers in the league for him..make it make sense y'all

I just feel like Harden is getting older, he seems to be missing more games, he doesn't seem that interested in being in super shape, the game has somewhat caught on to his free throw baiting antics, and he's going to make over $40M a year going into his mid-30s.

Honestly, if the Nets get more than Simmons and Curry, I think it'll be an absolute steal for them. Especially given that I think Simmons could be a great fit with Kyrie and KD.

If I were you, I'd be praying Marks has a wider field of vision than you seem to.

To who?... name the teams that have the cap space to absorb Simmons+, and would want to do so while giving fair value back? You'd definitely be over a barrel in such a scenario and get ten cents on the dollar.

Well it could be done now so should expand to teams with expiring of which they are many. As for teams projected to have cap space next, I mean there are plenty. Are your blazers no longer interested in Simmons if all they are sending back is picks? OKC? Pop speaks glowing of Simmons.

True, though he usually does of most players. Ben's spoken well of Pop, too, so there's mutual respect there at least.

And with today's trade, Sato+Thad is about $25M worth of expiring contracts.

It'll be an interesting however many hours left to the trade deadline.

Probably only Simmons for Giannis.

Yeah, only way they consider it seriously is if Harden's been really upfront about leaving and/or if the vibes are just brutal there. Otherwise the obvoius plan is to at least let this season run out, and not to sweat the possibility of Harden leaving for nothing that much (since it's pretty far-fetched at this point).

And I agree with everything you just said. It's the people acting like Sixers are crazy for not wanting to give up thybulle, curry, Drummond and Simmons for an ageing Harden; that I do not agree with. People either want sixers to get an underwhelming return for Simmons or for them to overpay.

Sixers won't trade Maxey, and they need to reshuffle their roster further if they trade Thybulle because they have no on ball primary defenders besides Matisse, I guess that's the real obstacle to make this trade. So I bet Simmons-Harden trade in the summer without any further ingredients besides cap fillers.

Not gonna hold my breath  but then again Spurs never make trades and have made 3 in the last 6 months. Perhaps they can get in as a third team to help facilitate.

Even the Nets are lowballing what they can get back for Harden. Usually if there’s actual smoke teams create a bidding war not negotiate against themselves. If Harden wants Philly well tough titties. If the Nets can find another team to take a risk on half a season on Harden and they get a better return than what Philly is offering then trade him there. I think at the end of the day if a deal doesn’t go through the Nets can sit Harden down and tell him they tried, give this season a shot and if he still wants to leave they’ll work with him in the offseason to facilitate a sign and trade. I don’t buy this Philly or bust scenario being floated by the media.

Harden for Simmons straight up you'd have to say Philly got better obviously. We all know Brooklyn is not going to do that though.

What scares me about Philly right now is Embiid playing at an MVP level along with their quality depth. I don't think Philly beats Milwaukee in a 7 game series when it's all said and done, but Philly is a team that is on my radar as a Bucks fan.

But if Philly gives up some of their depth for an aging injury prone Harden who will also take away some of Embiid's touches, sign me up.

Where are you getting this from? From all accounts Simmons is good with a number of teams, no “forcing to nets”?
