Im pretty sure 10 years ago we were saying he might hit 30k/8k/8k if he stayed healthy…

I don't remember where I had him on assists, but I definitely did NOT see him passing KAJ in points despite being a never seen before absolute monster in his Heat days.

Found it!

There was no way to see just how much longevity he would have, but there certainly is some takes in there…

People had the same reaction when suggesting he would get 30 pts then 35k points then breaking Kareems record, getting 10k assists etc etc.

I'm not saying it's likely or going to happen but at what point do you just say 'well damn I guess we'll just have to wait and see"

it's safe to say play-off numbers are included. In which case Schmidt 42044+, LeBron 46021
Also it's safe to say Lebron's 581 points scored in official International games pales in comparison with Schmidt's 7,693 points

Shmidt 49737
LeBron 46602

Schmidt played forever. His pro-career started when he was 16, and I think he played well into his mid 40s. Almost 30 years as a pro, but I very much doubt that he was playing 100 games a year like Lebron did/does.

Schmidt's competition was far inferior too.

49,737 points in 1,615 games (30.8 per game) over 29 years. So an average of 56 games a year. However, most sources say that he actually scored over 50,000 points, but they can't count some of the games, because the original official score sheets haven't been located.

It will be close. At this rate he would need to play min 3 more years after this at the current rate. Maybe 4-5 if injured / slowing down. He could easily do it if he wanted to spend 3 years with his kid, but I don't see it. Not wishing this, but seeing a kobe/Arod type injury that finally ends his career.

It's still amazing that he never actually played in the EuroLeague.

With just over a qt of the season done thought we'd take a look at the numbers. Lebron currently is 718 points away from hitting 40K. Not bad.
