OMG, Cuban is a serious clown
and their FO are worse

goddamn
They got a 27.4 ppg player for 2 role players and a draft pick.

Kyrie is by far the best player in this trade, i'd imagine a 100% of folks know that to be a fact that part's not debatable

but there are two options:
a.) the two sides haven't pre-agreed to an extention, in which case the Mavs gave up a huge proportion of their actual assets for a short rental of Kyrie

b.) more likely in my opinion - the sides agreed on a 4 year max

giving a 4 year max to kyrie, with the level of craziness involved...that's a good candidate for worst contract in the league
it's not a question of "if" Kyrie sours on the Mavs or just decide to knit winter caps instead of playing ball - it's a question of when

dude just demanded a trade out of the blue a week b4 the deadline because he didn't get a full max after all the S*** he pulled
AND threatend to sitout the season if not traded

you lock him in for 4 years and ur basically his hostage

i actually like the fit on the court, as opposed to some folks
Luka did just fine with Dragic in a lead guard role for Slovenia and both players are smart and willing passers - they'll find their groove on the court

but the off-court stuff simply raises the risk level to intolerable levels

The Mavs FO has been making awful move after another for a few years now, culminating in having very few assets to improve

and now they doubled down on everything

Cuban is a gambler, he took the only shot he had with an actual high upside which was trading for Kyrie
no other way to get that level of talent, but there's a reason Kyrie was available :)

this is basically a pure gamble and a pretty wild one at that

They better go after somebody since they crapped out on Irving.

Conley or FVV. I almost like FVV more because of his grit/style of play with that Clippers team

He is in a tough spot. $14M player on an expiring contract who will want a pay raise...not sure what they could get for him.

I'm not sure they really have anything that interesting to offer that's enough for the Jazz to pull the trigger. Conley has expressed he's happy to keep playing in Utah, and he's basically the ideal vet to have with a roster full of young developing players. His value might be higher to the Jazz than what any other team is going to offer. I think Vando/Beasley, and maybe Olynyk are the most probable moves. Of course if someone makes an offer they can't refuse they'll sell on Conley, but I doubt that happens. Clips should be looking into FVV imo...he'd be a huge acquisition for the Clips.

Why are the Mavs seemingly so desperate to trade Woods and there is seemingly very little interest in him? He seems to be putting up great numbers... Is he just one of those C's who put up big points and rebounds but can't play a lick of defense (see: Hassan Whiteside)?

Kevin Durant is not being traded to Boston that would be a stupid trade for Brooklyn yes let’s trade him to a team in the same division not happening Boston fans . What I want to know is why Durant hasn’t said anything He has kept his mouth shut not because I want him to be traded but because they traded Irving and now He has to know they arent winning it all and waiting till the summer makes no sense because Durant is going to age you would still get a lot but it won’t be anywhere what you would have gotten last summer and possibly what you would get now . Think of it like this shouldn’t the Nets objective be to win a title and by holding on to Durant till the summer your putting off doing that and it will take even longer to get back to title contention seems like a bad decision to me.

No real clue.

This season Wood hasn’t been a great defender, but he’s been at least serviceable. TBH I think the issue lies in that he’s a poor scheme defender, even if he gets blocks and tries to be active. The other element is it seems like JKidd just hates him?

I really like Wood, and think he’d be a great #3 on the team. He basically needs to play PF rather than C, and be paired with someone who’s a quality defender and does the dirty rebounding work. I have heard no locker room rumblings or anything, but I think at this point the reputation precedes him.

Didn't mavs know Wood wasn't a good defender? Or did they expect him to learn how to play defence after the age of 28?

Extremely stupid mistakes by the managements and they can just get away with it. Unbelievable.

Honestly didn't know he was 28. This explains a LOT about why he has so little value. Since they got him from the Rockets, I thought he was still in his early 20's.

Teams likely think (rightfully so), this season is more of a flash in the pan than anything else. If he can't play defense at 28, he's not gonna learn it by 30.

Mavs obviously do not want to lose a player for nothing, but definitely will have no interest in resigning him.

The price to get FVV isn't going to be any lower than Conley. If anything, it would be higher due to age and winning familarity with Kawhi.
