Clippers are STACKED. Easily the most talented team in the league. They added a solid C and a solid SG in Eric Gordon in trades too to make them even better.

Barring any injuries, I think this team will come out of the west, unfortunately :(

Their only negative player is westbrook, but aslong as they have him playing 10-15 mins, they should be ok.

He didn't play in the 4th quarter today.

Why should the coach truly care who starts if he can get the minutes and rotations he wants? If this works to keep everyone happy, then it is better. It's not like Russ is as really bad fit with the starters like it was on the Lakers.

Clips (37-33) defeat Warriors tonight in LA. Clippers improve to 4-5 in the Russ Era. They have won 4 straight games, and they are now in 5th place in the West. They are 1/2 game behind Phoenix for the 4th seed.

Russ finished with 15/9/7, and zero turnovers. He was a +10. What was most standout in his performance were his critical offensive rebounds that led to Clippers points.

Lue and the team are starting to figure it out. When injured Norman Powell returns, things should only get better.

Good highlights of Russ from tonight's game. Shows his field goal misses, but really gives you a sense of how energetic he was with offensive rebounds and steals. He had a massive effect on this game.

Russ was great tonight, just a ball of energy.

Very much agree. Russ' energy, along with his ball handling and playmaking ability, were things the Clippers did not have before.

HUGE get for them. And the fit is perfect. AND he's mentoring TMann.

Bad loss today to the Magic.

Game was in hand, but LA blew it early in the fourth quarter.

Russ wasn't good. Shot poorly and too many turnovers.

Kawhi didn't play today. Clips have a back to back tomorrow.

Ya know, except for on defense. He hasn't given a **** about defense in ages. For some reason pros and ex-pros always ignore that.

Russ left it all on the court today, it wont show up in the win column but my eyes saw he gave max effort, my only question was why did he think he could dunk on Wendell Carter of all people when they were down 5 in the 4th

It's more accurate to say that they started 0-5 but are 4-1 in their last 5 games, so in terms of trends, they're going in the right direction.

Russ just missed a triple double as the Clips (38-34) beat the Blazers in Portland.

Westbrook did not shoot well (3/12), but he finished with 9/12/10 and +13.

He led both teams in rebounding and assists.

Last night was a clear example. The Clippers offense was by far at its best in the 4th when they benched the centers, and they defended better too.

Exactly right. Clips closed the game with Small Ball (think it was..........Russ, Gordon, George, Leonard, Batum) and that was the turning point.

So expect to see a lot of Small Ball moving forward.

Lue will figure things out, it takes time. They have like 4 new guys (Russ, Bones, Gordon, Plumlee) so it's a work in progress.

If Lue hasn't figured this out in 4 years, while I have been laughing that he hasn't, he's never going to. This is more one off and panic than smart and preference.

He did figure it out, it's how he turned the series against the Mavs and beat the Jazz w/o Kawhi.

And then he's gone completely away from it repeatedly like it never mattered. Here we are two years later. Like he didn't understand cause and effect.

Even "figuring this out" in 2021 was 5 years late when he had countless examples to work from.

Re: Clips 5-7 in the Russ Era; Paul George hurts leg

Post#400 » by HotRocks34 » Wed Mar 22, 2023 2:47 pm

Clips fall at home to OKC. Good game, Thunder played well.

Story of the game is Paul George hurting his leg. Sadly, it looks like it might be serious.

Recall Paul George has already had one serious leg injury in his career.

And so, just like that, the Clippers season could be over. Just as they were finding their rhythm. Kawhi had recently expressed hope in where things were headed.

Good luck to Paul George.
