Google why referring to a black man as a thug is racially charged, especially in its modern-day context when used to demonize and criminalize black men. Mods are tasked with ensuring conversation remains cordial and on topic, and using charged language will not be conducive to a productive discussion. I'm not going back-and-forth about this.

This is a word historically associated and rooted in India. This is NOT used in the context of African-Americans. I am a visible minority who's experienced racial discrimination. I ain't putting down his RACE.
