Wade, Bron, and Bosh is a pretty hefty draw, ya gotta admit.

Still, as much as I'd love this, it ain't happening...

Let's say that Wade resigns with Miami, and that Bosh agrees to go to Miami, but LeBron hasn't committed yet to any team. What would be his thoughts?

He could go to Chicago and pair up with Rose, but is that good enough to beat Miami or the Lakers? It would be some fun games vs Miami but the Lakers would still come out winners.

If he went to NY then they would make the playoffs and MAYBE get to the 2nd round, but after that they are done.

If he went to the Clippers they would make the playoffs and get to the 2nd round, but they would lose to the Lakers and not make the finals. Plus they would have to compete with the LA crowd for its fans. Lakers vs Clippers regular season games where Clippers are the "home" team would still really be a Laker home game.

Or he would be forced to join Miami. Not that it is a bad thing for him, but it would be his best bet to go to a winning team that will compete for championships every year. Or if all three don't sign max contracts and they get some extra money from Nike and other sponsors to make up a few million a year.

If LeBron wants to be the first billionaire NBA player then the team salary of 20-26 million each year isn't going to get you there. First you have to be a winner, then people around the world buy your products. Then sponsors come at you from all sides giving you money.

I said "post-Shaq" blindy, the post-Shaq Lakers got no ring-chasers. And I said "Boston didn't get many" and they only got Sheed, that's it.

St.Nick wrote:So the Heat would have a roster of:

Chalmers/
Wade/
LeBron/James Jones/Jarvis Varnardo
Beasley/DaSean Butler
Bosh/Haslem/Dexter Pittman

That leaves a pretty open roster to fill...maybe they can re-sign Ray Allen at the vet min, Steve Blake for part of the MLE ($4M/yr), Craig Smith to a $2M/yr deal with the remaining part of the MLE.

Could be an interesting team, especially if they decided to run. I'd love to see LeBron as a PF with Bosh next to him at Center. It'd be like a track event where they dunk the basketball at the end of the race.

That's a lopside roster you built there. More like:

Pittman/Varnado
Bosh/Beasley
James/Wright
Wade/Butler
Arroyo/Chalmers

And that's if guys are willing to wait til next year to get paid for having taken a pay cut to make this team happen.

^ let's be real... if that trio is put together, Shaq is going to Miami for pennies. Best shot at a ring? Check. Rivaling Kobe's team? Check. Plenty of playing time? Check.

I don't know what else he'd be looking for in a team, that is, assuming the Heat wanted him.

They would all have to adapt because their games would be called differently, and they would be treated differently by the refs. They are all known for getting to the line a lot, which wont continue to happen. No way the refs would continue to put each of them on the line 10-15 times a night as it would be ridiculous and boring, so id expect teams to be allowed to play them more physically which would require each of them adapt and all have to learn how to play a different game than they have been over the past 7 years.

If this happens, then the NBA is in real trouble. They would have no bench at all but they would be great. They might have to wait a year to really get deadly when they get a MLE and some more draft picks.

Clangus wrote:I don't get the big deal. Sure they are great players. But basketball is a team sport. they will have crappy role players filling out the rest of the squad. They cannot play 48mpg each They will have to get thier chemistry just right and agree on what they are trying to achieve and how. 2 former #1 option guys are going to have to learn to be 2nd and 3rd options, likely going from 19-23ish shots per game to something more like 12. They have to do this and not complain about it. The coach would have to work out how to get enough balls for 2 ball dominant scorers, and still pound it inside enough to stop Bosh crying. Seriously its still 5 on 5. There is still only one ball. They wont score 150points a game. I mean all this "i would stop watching basketball''' is just silly. I say bring it on. Lets see if it can work, let see them take o the Lake show

Kobe V Wade
LBJ V Artest
Gasol V Bosh
Bynum v ???

or hell even for my Thunder I welcome the challenge.

Durant V LBJ
Wade V Sefalosha or maybe Westbrook
Ibaka on Bosh
etc etc etc

I dunno, yeah they get the MLE's but with 3 max contracts, your cap gets out of hand quickly. I'd much sooner get 2 maxes and use the rest of the cap space to legitimately fill out the roster. I do agree all 3 would be beastly, but I'd much rather do Wade/Bosh or LBJ/Bosh and have room to really build around them.

Yeah, the same guy who reported that LeBron was leaning towards New York just 2 days ago. What changed since then? He's not going to Miami. Stephen A's a funny guy when he speaks his mind, but he's not an insider.

If true, RIP NBA.

Would've much rather seen Bosh and Wade in Miami, Lebron and Boozer/Johnson/Stoudemire in Chicago. Would've been great.

I don't think Miami's owner is bashful about spending, correct me if I'm wrong

Good players will be lining up to take the minimum. They'll have no problems filling out the roster.

LA had a cast in place already. Boston is different they DID get huge pieces in posey and brown. Not sure how you're saying they didn't.

3 max players on 1 team? Is that even possible? lol

The rest of the roster will be scrubs or people close to the minimum and the MLE.

Or according to flash3, Any free agent vet is gonna go to miami for the minimum to chase a ring..
