If Kobe was so simple, he wouldn't be the most polarizing figure in NBA. The fact remains, both of us have our opinion on Kobe Bryant and they're probably polar opposite to each other. That's anything but simple.

It has nothing to do with Kobe. Accusations of rape alone are enough to turn the general public on anyone.

That's why I think he's misunderstood. Only on a guilty verdict should he be crucified like he was then. Accusations is and should never be a basis of anything.

The rape case ISN'T a big deal because to anyone who actually followed the case it was clear the whole thing was nothing but a setup.

Fair enough but our country really doesn't work that way. I still don't understand why you feel he's so misunderstood though. Everybody has their detractors, his are simply more vocal about it because they have the ammunition to be. If jersey sales are indicative of anything most people love Kobe.

i would think most players in league would be somewhat misunderstood

young black kids from the projects making millions.....

Kobe gets bad rep cause he seems or used to seem arrogant/cocky + rape case

Lebron seems full of himself and a douche

I had a principal who used to live in LA, and once, when the Bucks came to town, he tried to get Robertson's autograph after a game. Robertson ignored my principal (then a kid) rather coldly. He said he didn't know why Robertson did it, "probably because he was a spoiled punk athlete" and, to be honest, in the context of the situation, it sounded like a race thing.

Robertson's history shows how race played a role in his life, and how it left a chip on his shoulder. I remember reading in Simmons's "Book of Basketball" that Robertson's never been a GM or coach, and he was only briefly a commentator. The reasoning is because too many people thought Robertson a jerk. But reading about his early life, he had reason to be one.

 ok lebron. at least you didn't bring up slavery though so that's a start.

Go ahead and read about how Robertson wasn't allowed to celebrate his team's high school state championship title in downtown Indianapolis because people said "the blacks are gonna tear up the town."

That's not even remotely close to LeBron trying to detract negative attention away from himself. Robertson suffered. To say he hasn't is completely ignorant.

Easy it's Iverson.
The future hall of fame, olympian, former MVP was labeled a thug by the media.
He's not a yes man and never compromised who he is.
An incredible talent at 6 foot 165 pounds.

Kevin Garnett.

People think that all that **** he does on the floor, from getting on his knees to making weird ass faces, is some act.

That's not true. KG actually does it because he believes it.

Maybe that makes him insane. But it doesn't make him an actor.

if you listened to his internet ramblings and breakdown, they made a surprising amount of sense considering the pressures he was under. the man just danced and played with his fans for a couple days. the vaseline-eating--whatever, tyra banks does it too. i figure it's some kind of hood thing.

i'm glad he found a home in china away from the spotlight and the constant negativity heaped on him. also, any criticisms about his game have to be tempered by the fact that he was replaced by two of the greatest point guards to ever play the game, not that his game was somehow naturally not conducive to winning.

Was i the only one that saw this?

You had a decent post going and then you just failed with that comment. Think before you write. That's pretty offensive to anyone from what you would consider "the hood".

No, I think we're all pretty clear that he's an unhinged screaming clown.

KG is a clown. He bowed Q-Rich in the face then tried to get as far away from him as possible. KG ACTS tough but he really ain't.

Bottomline: KG IS AN ACTOR, but nowhere near as good of an actor as Paul Pierce is.

Kobe messed up SO bad in Colorado
People hated him before that like crazy too but most of those guys were AI fans
Kobe has such a healthy respect for the game but still has enough guts to put his personal stamp on it and change the game a small bit.
Eventually those fans would have come around to Kobe id he didnt do what he did (affair, it was an extortion attempt)
I tell my music friends he is like Taylor guitars and MJ is Martin.

Rodman is very intelligent. I wouldnt be surprised if he could be an astrophysicist if he could ever stop partying so hard.

Role players don't marry Madonna and win 5 chips.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!
