Thornton is the better scorer, Stuckey is the better all around player.

In stuckeys defense though, he's never been able to play next to a PG (he's a SG). He'd be better off signing a one year deal in cleveland and showing that he's a capable 2 in the league

Re: ATTN: Rodney Stuckey wants 10mil
Stuckey is very comparable to Ramon Sessions. Showed flashes of "brilliance"...(huge stat games) for a bad team that gave him keys to the car for awhile. Not a playmaking PG, but one that can create penetration and finish at the rim. Lack of a jumpshot, decent size, but not known as a good defender. Erratic play, but has posted some big stat games. Not a guy who you want to rely on as a starting PG, best as a combo guard off the bench. Shouldn't be paid more than $4yr/$19M, but probably will be.

I can understand overpaying big men, but Stuckey is not worth 6 mil/year. He's average at best in this league at his position.

Re: ATTN: Rodney Stuckey wants 10mil
I think Stuck is worth slightly more than the MLE, but not much more. I say more only so a team could outbid the other MLE teams.
4/24 seems fair.

Re: ATTN: Rodney Stuckey wants 10mil
Problem in Stuckey negotiations, IMO, have to be direct comparisons with teammates and their deals:
Ben Gordon ($11 mil per)
Tayshaun Prince (over $7 mil per)
Charlie Villanueva ($7 mil per)
Going into the offseason, I figured a fair deal would have been in the $6-8 million per range. However, if Stuckey and his agent are using their (above) numbers, they have a point. He was the Pistons best all-around player last season, so why not pay him as such?
Now personally, I hope they work out a deal in the $7 mil per range....otherwise, if he wants more, I hope he signs the QO and we can trade him at some point this season. He's not worth $10+ mil per.

Trade options are very limited with a guy on the QO. His new team won't have bird rights, and he has the ability to veto the trade because of this.

I don't think he gets more than $6m maybe $7m tops on the open market. Teams are running out of cap space and need. They should let him sign an offer sheet and match if it's reasonable, but in no way would I pay Stuckey more than $8m.

I'd be comfortable giving Stuck 3/21 right now. He quietly made big strides last season.
But 4/40? Not happening.

Rodney stuckey wants 10 mil per. Being a pistons fan, HE OUT HIS F* MIND. Thorton's deal(30 for 4) didn't help his case as many consider stuckey better than him. However i put his value right about there. So what do other posters think of detroits 10 million dollar man? anyone want him?

Stuckey is a 1 1/2 ... and not even that good of a player. Some guys just want to get paid based on potential forever.

That explains the state of the Pistons franchise.

That's exactly why I posted 3/20, not a penny more or a day longer, in the thread on the Pistons board.

stuckey is a scrub. Atleast thornton does one thing very well. Stucky is mediocre across the board. Not a true pg but not an efficient enough scorer

Re: ATTN: Rodney Stuckey wants 10mil
These guys and their demands would be hilarious if it did not show just how deeply deluded they are. And what is Stuckey's leverage exactly? How many teams out there still have caproom left and would blow $10mil of it on Rodeny Stuckey. $10mil is star money. Or 7pt 7reb money if you are 6'11" or over. Stuckey is neither. And its very hard to beleive he has any suitors up in that price range. Given all that if the Pistons sign him to a dime more than $8mil per they are insane.

Re: ATTN: Rodney Stuckey wants 10mil
I'm a Pistons fan - If Stuckey were on an up-tempo team he could be really good. He can get to the rim very well and has a low assists/turnover rate. Can run the point and the play off the ball. That being said - Detroit is just not a good fit for him. I see a sign-and-trade happening for around 7-8 million a year.
