What?
By that logic OKC with Fisher up 2-0 OKC last year w/o Fisher 0-2
Fisher for MVP!
you can't compare some scrub to the defensive player of the year. mavs pre chandler, first round exit team. mavs after chandler, first round exit team.
tyson chandler is a beast of a player that helped the mavs both offensively and defensively. sure their defense might be fine looking at the stats but their offense took a huge hit as well. chandler played a big part of the dallas offense last year by setting great picks and finishing strong and going to the free throw line/drawing fouls.
Knicks pre-Chandler: first round exit team. Knicks during Chandler: first round exit team.
Chandler, Woodson & Shump have all gotten a lot of press this year for turning New York around on D, but they aren't quite there yet.

Wouldn't have mind if KG did indeed take this award, I'm just happy that Chandler was a legit option to win. Chandler really did improve this team tremendously this year, easily the most Knicks important player throughout this turmoil filled year.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

You do know the Knicks are playing the best team in the NBA in the first round. And they are without Linn, Shumpert, Tyson had the flu, Amare hurt him self being a dumbass

Even though he is a Knick now I'll always root for Tyson and thank him for what he did for Dallas's Championship win. Well Deserved!

Well-deserved, and happy for him. He had an obscene amount of responsibility on this Knicks team. Deserves to be recognized for it.

Mavs defense surprisingly is fine without him.

Lol we don't miss barea at all he sucks, west is much better, however we do miss Tyson a lot, we have the worst center rotation in the NBA

I know, it's so unfair that the Knicks would have to play a team that's better than them in the first round just because they didn't win more games in the regular season. It's so unfair to be from New York!

And I would argue that Dallas is playing a similarly elite team with a laundry list of excuses they could use for being a "first round exit team." The Lamar Odom Saga is easily comparable to what is going on with Amare.
I will give Tyson props, I pegged him as a one-year-wonder in a contract season. I really didn't think he had it in him back when he was with the Bulls and wrote his Hornets success off to Chris Paul. This season did a lot in showing me that he is a legit player now, but let's not act like he can turn a team into a title contender all on his own. Does he instantly transform Dallas back into title favorites against the Thunder?

Hes always been underrated until now, ive always thought he was better than people perceived him, he has an impact thats stats dont measure.
The guy only takes good shots for him/sets good picks, shoots a huge percentage and plays awesome D....Top 5 Center IMO

Que?
Anyway, very happy to see Tyson win the award. He most certainly deserves it.
