Re: DeJuan Blair
DeJuan Blair is a very good pick and roll player cause he has great hands and can finish with skills (layups, reverse layups..). His numbers are good cause he plays with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili that assist him all the time. Basically his offense is good, but he has complications against bigger players cause he doesn't have a jump shot and he can't get as many offensive rebounds.
I think he's worth a first round pick.. IMO, he has the same trade value as George Hill. Both lack of something important for their positions, but has skills to have success. Both have good work ethic, young. Maybe Hill is better overall, but the PG position is full of players and bigs with offensive skills are not very popular..

Re: DeJuan Blair
Ironically, his size is a detriment in the NBA. In college, he was a dominant force mostly because of his size. I'm glad the Spurs drafted him before the Bucks had a chance to.

Yes, he is. He's better at everything except rebounding.
His bball IQ is so much better... he facilitates the offense, everything goes smoothly with him. Diaw is a monster upgrade for our team.
Diaw+Jax >>>>>> Jefferson+Blair, best mid-season acquisitions ever for my team.
Diaw can shoot the 3
they have better spacing with Diaw at center
more room for Parker to drive

Re: DeJuan Blair
Yea if Blair had a real jumpshot, doesn't even have to be a 3, and if he had a decent free throw, he'd be seeing some minutes especially against the Jazz and Clippers forwards that aren't 7 feet tall
Blair has a lot of energy and talent, even has a few 20/20 games, his size can be a match-up problem that can be utilized by both teams on the court. Blair's instincts in the paint along with his width, strength, bulk, and surprisingly quick feet and hands, makes him an x-factor that even 7 footers can have trouble with
But like already mentioned Blair is a defensive liability. He has to gamble a lot against skilled 7 footers like Gasol with steals and taking charges, and has been getting a lot of fouls boxing out and rebounding
There were sources floating around about a year ago that said Coach Pop and the Spurs weren't too happy with Blair's weight, it'll be interesting to see what the Spurs do with him in the near future. Imo Blair was a starter much like Richard Jefferson was: to raise their trade value while keeping them motivated in the Spur system

Re: DeJuan Blair
the spurs would be much better with a defensive big with isze than blair. i never understood why the spurs didn't try to trade blair before the trade deadline this season for one or may be they did...
