I like Rougarou, but I'm sure it'll be the Pelicans which is the next best choice out of the others.

I know they didn't go with Blues or Angels because of trademark reasons with other sports teams that play now (plus trademark laws are way more strict than in th 50's to 80's). I'm surprised they didn't go with the New Orleans Brass or Krewe, those two names I liked a lot. But I don't mind Rougarou or Pelicans.

New names always get made fun of and nitpicked to death. Whether it's Brass, Pelicans or Swamp Dogs somebody out there will have a problem with it. Eventually after everyone gets used to it it'll be just like any other team name.

Agree completely. Same thing happened to the Thunder even though everyone else liked the Baron's name better (plus the Thunder chose boring pseudo-knicks colors). The Pelican's make the most sense and will be the new name.

I like Pelicans the most. I may be in a minority but I actually like the name Pelicans, not just in a sense of "best of the worst".

Pelicans are pretty badass birds.

I'd be ok with mosquito though because it would allow me to call them the N'awlins Skeeters which I would want to say all the time.
