Why would he have taken the sat? He knew he was going pro as a junior.

I'm pretty sure KG, Wade, and Carmelo struggled to meet the minimum score lol

Yeah and they ended up making millions of dollars, so I guess they laugh last.

I remember reading he got above a 21 on the ACT, so above average.

Before 2005, the max SAT score was 1600, so I'd call an 870 average.

no it doesn't scale 1:1 like that. The median at that time was somewhere around 1000.

Times like these remind me of Friday night lights "how are your grades boobie" "I get straight A's, I'm a athlete" "in whatssubject" "football, only subject there is" most of these guys on par for professional sports overlook education, garnett went straight from hs because his sat scores didn't meet d1 standards and stevenson was accused of getting cheating that's why he went, where's mike ross when u need him

No. Garnett declared for the draft because he didn't know if he got the required SAT score yet, but after he declared, he found out that he scored high enough to get into college.

Because he had already taken it multiple times and failed to qualify

Who's having the college discussion? Unless one goes on to atleast a masters degree, a traditional B.A is useless, college education was stressed in my home, I'll never raise my kids that way, all it does is start your adult life off in unnecessary debt. Thankfully, I did it the right way and went to juco for two years then moved to a university so no loans, my wife on the other hand owes 80k in loans on a 60k salary, disgusting

1080 is below average for sure. not terrible, but not very impressive

No. Back then the SAT was out of 1600 and I believe Kobe scored around the 67%th or something percentile. So he is above average by quite a bit, but most definitely not elite. Good for an athlete I guess.

What's more impressive to me is Shane Battier's 3.5 GPA from Duke which is an ivy league university and Brandon Knight's 4.0 GPA in college.

What I'm saying is Lebron's SAT/ACT score matters as much as Steve Jobs never graduating college. They are both millionaires and icons. Whats the point of going to college? to get a good job that pays well? I agree with you job experience > no experience with a degree.

To your point LeBron is only rich by common standards, not by wealthy people standards, I'm sure zuckerberg had good S.A.T scores

Just so you all know, the reported 870 score that the genius in this thread found is from Wikianswers.com. Meaning that, someone asked what Bron scored on the test, and any random person can reply with whatever BS information they have without providing sources. And the hilarity is that everyone in this thread is dumb enough to take that info and run with it. Links:

Honestly, LeBron comes off as fairly intelligent to me. He's well spoken, a good family man, and an excellent businessman. On top of that Duke was courting him to play college ball so his grades had to have been pretty proper. I doubt he took either his SAT or ACT knowing that his future was already set, but if he did I could easily see him scoring above average.
