That's not due to basketball, there would be other factors for that to happen

srs, it's not shocking that a guy that jumps and runs from the day he learn to walk with a break of 2-3 weeks a year has ugly feet. google usain bolt feet, or other world class athletes.

Sorry but this is shocking !

1) The shoes they are wearing they are made to support that effort (running and jumping)

2) Soccer player : they dont have that kind of feets and they are using all days (running, jumping, shooting) + they dont wear the same shoes as the basketball players which are by far less confortable !
When a soccer player is walking on your feet, this is way more painfull than a basketball player (cf. the shoe)

Soccer players have the benefit of running on soil versus hardwood / concrete that basketball players run on.

It's not basketball, running and jumping doesn't p that to you, and we would see this on all professional basketball players. Lebron has some issues with his shoes or has worn ill fitting shoes for way too long. You can get necrosis on your big toe just from wearing a shoe that's slightly to tight at the front, not to mention really tight shoes.

Also, soccer players are kicking a ball, having their feet kicked, so it's a pretty good comparison to say if it's from stress, why aren't we seeing it there too.

I wonder if its the shoes or just wear and tear.

It could be brachymetatarsia. It's caused by uneven growth of the bones in your toes. Jennifer Garner has it. I can't embed a picture on my phone, but it looks like a lesser version of what's going on there.

Ya that's probably allot of mileage on those toes. Just look at people from different countries that usually walk around barefoot or with sandles, they are some horrifying feet out there, absolutely horrifying.

Not exactly. Sprinters intentionally wear shoes 1-2 sizes too small for more control (more traction). Side effect: hammer toes and often some injuries to the toenails. There's also some really nasty nail fungus on Bolt's feet.

Yikes. His toes could make prime Allen Iverson jealous.

Gotta go the minimal route, Lebron! Let those toes spread like how God intended.

We've never heard a complaint about his foot. Some other players would have let this leak to the media ages ago, so we can know how much of a warrior they are by playing with a mangled toe.
