For Matthews and Batum???

I think the Blazers would entertain the idea. Bad Contracts and All.

I'm using my iPad to read about the blazers using their iPads. Steve jobs would be proud...
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Just because you have a 13-2 record doesnt mean your gonna win a championship.
In fact I'm willing to be my left pinkie toe you won't get past the second round.

Depsite their bad contracts Gay and Derozan are younger and better than Matthews and Batum.
Not to mention Wes and Nic are very injury prone. When was the last time they played a full season? How do you expect Damian Lillard to stay when he doesn't have any young talented guys around him? Demar and Rudy seems like a good trio to grow with.

I would love to see this trade happen. Paul Allen always had an itchy trigger finger when pulling off deals like this. So I could hahahah this comment made by you when your ship begins to sink once again.

Wes and Nicolas are very injury prone.

The only upside is you would be able to lock down Batum forever because lets be real you guys are in Canada and the majority of players who like to retire and finish their careers there are international ball players.

Sad but the truth.

They review shifts with them in hockey too. The Penguins have been using it for a few years now.

Gay is the same age as Wes and Nic is just a year older than Demar.

so much wrong for one post

yeah, Matthews is "injury prone"...that's why his 5 year record for games played is:

82 + 10 playoff games
82 + 6 playoff games
66 (in a 66 game season)
69
15

he played nearly 300 consecutive games

Rudy Gay is older then Batum. Matthews is older the Derozan

and them being "better" only works if you all you care about is scoring without any eye to efficiency or usage. Gay and Derozan score 40 points on 36 FGA. Matthews and Batum score 31 points on less then 21 FGA.

Gay has a usage rate of 31.1%. Batum has a usage rate of 17.4% and bests Gay in assists 5.0 vs 2.2 while crushing Gay in TS%, .606 vs .462

Derozan has a usage rate of 26.6%. Matthews has one of 17.3%. And just like Batum, Matthews crushes Derozan in TS%, .707 vs .529

and of course, Batum and Matthews are a very good pair of defenders, Gay and Derozan aren't

what that leads to is that Gay/Derozan generate this much lower efficiency for an extra 9 points a game while having fewer assists and rebounds. But they are paid 29 million while Batum/Matthews make 18 million

they are not better, they are not less injury prone, and they are not more productive. But they are a lot more expensive. Portland wouldn't consider that trade for a second.

Matthews has played in 314 out of a possible 327 games in his career. Playing every game his first three years, and missing 13 last year. he has also played every game this year

Batum has played in 343 out of a possible 409 games

How are eaither one of them "very injury prone"?

Who's more attractive to play alongside going into the future for Damian Lillard.

GAY/DEROZAN or MATTHEW/BATUM???

it's my honest opinion and if it really gets you that mad for me to state it I guess I'll just have to leave you alone during this time of the month.

Okay I was wrong about the numbers. But as of lately from what Ive seen in the box scores these past 2 season or so Matthew and Batum always seem to be hurt or sitting out for the tank job.

I still think Damian Lillard would like to play with GAY/Derozan more than Batum/Matthews if we were able to pry out an honest answer out of him somehow. LOL

I'm not mad at your opinion. I'm mad about the lies you are making up to justify your opinion.

PER

Matthews 19.8
Batum 17.6
DeRozen 17.7
Gay 15.4

Still waiting for a real reason, other than you think Lillard would rather play with worse players, that you are arguing this.

Within a few years, surely every single team will do this. Have whatever information you need, to see where you made a mistake or where your opponent is vulnerable. That seems like an inevitable step - the players of tomorrow will be used to watching instant replays and handling ipads. This I think is truly great. But there is a deeper concern.

Eventually better and better programs will be written in. Teams will start to rely more and more on their massive databases of plays, probabilities, possibilities, and points. With 18 seconds left and down by 2 the program will say "run a side pick and roll with parker and leonard, get shot up within 8 seconds" and that is what the team will do, and it will be the right decision. It will base it on the lineups, the current game situation, the previous adjustments made by the defense, the surprise factor, everything.

It will become in many ways not just a tool used by the coaches and the teams, but a de facto coach itself. In some situation, the program will suggest a play or move that intuitively seems wrong, but is ultimately a statistically sound choice. Teams will struggle with whether or not to hand over such responsibility to a machine.

It's not only feasible but likely that NBA teams will start turning more play-calling, substitution patterns, timeout decision-making, and defensive adjustments over to the computer. If the program can process the current situation in the game and instantly compare it with every similar play with similar teams or plays run by the same players or within the same situations, it can come up with by far the most optimal play.

Eventually everyone will use it, like a constant stream of data and concepts within the game. But the first team to really commit to it and build a proprietary genius system of an artificial intelligence coach.... That team will win titles before the other teams really figure it out.

After it proves its utter dominance, the program will be adopted in many ways across basketball, then across other sports, and eventually politics and society itself. The program will become self-aware.

Skynet will be born.

Lillard can play some catch and shoot because of his perimeter shooting ability but he's better with the ball in his hands.

Gay and Derozan dominate a teams possessions. Like to the tune on nearly 58% of all offensive possessions. As a matter of fact, they have a higher combined usage rate then those of Lillard + Aldridge. Crazy considering their low efficiency.

it just wouldn't work. Having a pair of players like Batum and Matthews who don't demand the ball allows Lillard and Aldridge the opportunities they need to be effective, while keeping the thread of the 3 point shot on the floor to space the defense

yeah here goes that PER stat again.

Lillard does want to win a championship one day no doubt but do you think that is his main objective thus far in his very young NBA career???

Nope. Its about getting the big bucks and playing with exciting players that he feels he could grow with.

As great as the Blazers are playing so far I can not see him really wanting to grow old with Batum and Matthews. They don't have that exciting appeal imo. Plus if this ship sinks in the future I don't see Lillard staying in Portland especially if another team offers him the max.

So Gay and DeRozen will help him win a championship because they are more exciting?

What does Lillard leaving have anything to do with this? How is Toronto with the dynamic duo of Gay and DeRozen doing?

For starters I must say its kind of refreshing having a discussion with you when your not acting like a child and calling me stupid or an idiot in your hissy fit manner.

Second of all Lillard ain't winning no championships with Batum or Wes while these two guys are around.
Image
These two destroy Batum so badly every time he probably goes home crying to a bunch of smelly frenchmen baguettes.

Gay on the other hand might have a much terrible "PER" (which is so precious to you) than Batum but he for sure is more of a threat to lebron and kd than Batum.

An Wes has hit his ceiling a while back and his looking downhill from here on out.
