hoopscritic.com, eh? not a source, sorry.
I've come to the conclusion that most folks don't really care that you broke one of the rules... they just enjoy telling you that you broke it.

Ok, a hypothetical trade with the Kings

Contracts Nets
Williams $19,754,465 $21,042,800 $22,331,135
Plumlee $1,357,080 followed with team options

Contracts Kings
Landry $6,750,000 $6,750,000 $6,750,000
Thompson $6,037,500 $6,431,250 $6,825,000
Williams $6,679,866

Nets trade Williams + Plumlee, 2015 first that Atlanta has the right to swap, 2017 first round after Boston pick swap option

Kings trade Landry, Thompson, Williams, + 2016 second round from Knicks

Kings clear bs contract clutter from the pf position, get an expensive but serviceable pg with experience for a young team trying to build into something. Get two future first round picks to look for cheap role players or trade assets.

Nets clear out Williams and his massive contract and break it down into two smaller pieces.

Kind of hilarious that out of the original "Core 4" that JJ is the best value at his contract. Wallace was dead on arrival before he even inked his deal, Lopez may never recover from multiple foot surgeries and Deron lost his manhood in a Turkish bathhouse.

Guy hasent been the same since he left Utah, shouldnt have had Coach Sloan fired when he was integral to your career.

D-Will at his current level of play is worth like 7 million a season. Just think, this dude is getting 20+ million a year and a superior PG in Parker is making like 12 million a season

Both DWill and Boozer owe Sloan half the money they've made after their Utah careers, because clearly it was Sloan winning games in SLC not these two.

No chance the nets do it, and it doesnt work anyhow

1) we cant trade the '15 and '17 pick by league rules because we have no '16 and '18 pick
2) we wont trade plumlee, thats a deal breaker. the nets will trade williams for 0 cents on the dollar, but they wont add plumlee or firsts to move him.

It isnt critical for the nets to move williams, because his contract doesnt change our cap in '14-'15 and '15-'16. we would still be over the cap if he was gone for pure expirings. and in -'16-'17 he is our only player under contract.

The nets would dump williams for someone elses trash, but they wont pay for somone to take him.

In all likelihood, he is back here for at least another year. unless, like i said, detroit wants to give us their garbage for him

I've never been a big fan of Parker until recently. I don't know if I just didn't watch him enough, or didn't appreciate him because of some preconceived notion, but he is a bad dude. Very crafty and basketball smart.

Josh Smith and Jennings already pack their clothes and look for cribs in Brooklyn

D-Will's game don't allow any requests though...

I'm not one of these Pistons fans looking to trade Smith and Jennings for a big mac and fries, but this is a trade I'd make. I've always been a big Deron fan and I think its just a matter of him getting back with a great coach to regain his form. Its not hard to see that when he had a great coach he was one of the best PGs in the league, and then when he had average or inexperienced coaches his game went to ****. Sure he's responsible too, but some players just need great coaching to succeed. Thats fine if that's all it is, because I think the Pistons have great coaching now with SVG and could get him back to the Utah level he had with Sloan.

His contract is a non-issue because they would be paying Smith/Jennings that much the next 3 years anyways.

Then I can't think of any other situation than maybe Josh Smith, and they'd probably want some asset in return as well.

which is why i said in all likelyhood he will be here again next season.

it simply doesnt make sense for the nets to add an asset to dump williams, when they dont gain anything in the trade. his contract is huge, but their cap situation doesnt change by moving him.

These numbers tell me the Pistons dumped Joe Dumars just in time...

Okay, dumping him BEFORE he signed Smith and Jennings would have been preferable, but at least you dumped him before he could trade Smith for Deron.

Dallas offers Calderon / Wright / Ellington / Pick for Deron after we use our cap space

They use their cap space on Gortat / Ariza / Dirk / Harris + Carter with the room exception

PG-Deron / Harris / Larkin
SG-Ellis / Carter / Ledo
SF-Ariza / Crowder / Boston 2nd
PF-Dirk / Tolliver ( Vet Min ) / Blair ( Vet Min )
C-Gortat / Dalembert / Dallas 2nd
